Just curious about...
...how this guy could be charged with both "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon" and "resisting an officer without violence". Shouldn't he have been charged with resisting with violence since he apparently committed an aggravated assault against the Officer? Just saying...

Piss off the Mayor of Richmond...
...and get audited.
When the local Tea Party had a rally they paid permit fees and insurance in the amoubt of $10,000. The only people who have paid while the local Occupiers do their thing is the taxpayer. So the local Tea Party asked for their money back and now they are being audited. That strikes me as politics as usual. So here's hoping the Mayor and City Auditor of Richmond learn what it means to live in interesting times and that the Tea Party and their attorneys are successful in making those times interesting.

His boss was right.
A convenience store clerk in Wilmington, NC shot a robber twice. The robber entered and pulled a pistol. The clerk drew his pistol and fired a warning shot that hit the robber in the leg. The clerk then fired again and hit the robber in the finger. He themn held the schmuck until the police and an ambulance arrived. It all worked out in the end. Bad guy wounded and in custody. Clerk unharmed, but that's sheer luck. and I suspect the hits were as well.

It's been a nice holiday...
...so far. The estranged wife and the two youngest are at her dad's in Cocoa Beach. The middle daughter is working, kinda, and spending what time she has left with her boyfriend. The less said about that the better. Being alone for the holiday ain't that bad. I'm catching up on my reading. I watched a couple of movies and many episodes of NCIS. The only excitement was an evening call from the wife asking me to do a Black Friday Target run. Two and a half hours in line, thirty minutes of shopping and ninety-six dollars later, and no pepper spray at all I was back in bed. Now I'm taking the rest of the day off. Enjoy your holiday weekend.

The good news is he missed hitting his "junk".
The bad news is he wishes he hadn't because losing an inch off the tip of your pecker is better than a round in the femoral artery.
In Virginia, a man was sitting in his car with his Glock tucked in the waistband of his pants. Apparently it was nudging something it shouldn't have been and he grabbed it, the Glock, to adjust it. He shot himself in the thigh and bled out in minutes. Mexican carry and a rule three violation: recipe for disaster.

The States should be able to regulate guns as they see fit and the Federal Governemrnt stay the hell out of it unless of course they can shove a gun control bill through that pushes their agenda. Hypocrites.

Conversation with #3 Daughter
Me: I haven't seen Grandma's cat all day. I hope nothing has happened to her. She'd be heartbroke.
#3 Daughter: We could get her a another cat that looks just like Sassy.

ANARCHY
Frank Miller is the writer and illustrator of 300, Sin City, The Dark Knight Returns, Ronin, and numerous other comics. I've always enjoyed his work but never assumed his politics went one way or the other and wouldn't really have cared. I LIKE his stuff. He has a webpage and an opinion on the Occupy Crew. Heh.

Negligent Discharge
This was avoidable at every level. It doesn't rate being called an accident. It was pure negligence on the part of the father. Fortunately, his son is going to be alright. Keeping your finger off the trigger and the muzzle in a safe direction covers a multitude of sins.

Veterans Day
The photograph was in my Mom's photo album. She doesn't remember who they were other than friends of my father, and Dad is gone. It was taken at Camp Rucker Alabama around 1942 or 1943. Mom had gone down to visit before Dad went overseas. It's an appropriate photo for today. Thank you Veterans for your service.

My First Car
It's an old meme but I finally found the picture of my first car. It was a Carolina blue 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger with a V6. I more or less inherited it when I turned 16. I think this picture was taken around 1975 or 1976. I drove it until 1984.

A Petition
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:Go sign it.
Actually take these petitions seriously instead of just using them as an excuse to pretend you are listening
Although the ability to submit petitions directly to the White House is a noble and welcome new feature of the current administration, the first round of responses makes blatantly clear the White House intends to just support its current stances and explain them with responses everyone who has done any research already knows.
An online petition is not meant as a replacement for using a search box in a web browser. We the People, those who grant you the power to govern in the first place, are requesting changes in policy directly, circumventing legislators who already do not listen to us. We the People request you govern FOR us, which means actually listening to us and actually acting in our interests instead of special interests.
You are not above us. You ARE us. Govern accordingly.
