...and get audited.
When the local Tea Party had a rally they paid permit fees and insurance in the amoubt of $10,000. The only people who have paid while the local Occupiers do their thing is the taxpayer. So the local Tea Party asked for their money back and now they are being audited. That strikes me as politics as usual. So here's hoping the Mayor and City Auditor of Richmond learn what it means to live in interesting times and that the Tea Party and their attorneys are successful in making those times interesting.

Idjits
The "let's make what is already illegal doubly so by calling it gun traffiking" bill. This inane piece of government fuckwittery is brought to you by Reps. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY}. The usual suspects: once you know that all is clear. In this case though, gun control is only a small part of the agenda which I believe includes giving cover to Obama, Holder and the bureaucrats in DoJ and the ATF reference Gunwalker. I doubt it stands a snowballs chance in the Congress so expect the Prez to implement it by executive order.

To the TSA
Maybe there is a better way than the virtual strip tease and/or sexual battery?

The “stupid” is strong in the TSA
I’m not even sure why the TSA even need to check a military charter but this just boggles the mind. At what point do the adults take charge again?

I can't really say I expected...
...anything even remotely related to a balanced report from MSNBC, but, according to MSNBC and a draft report form the Inspector General's Office, it appears Project Gunrunner isn't performing up to expectations despite ATF assurances to the contrary. The apparently don't play well with others or other agencies don't play well with them or most likely the Federal Agencies involved are more interested in protecting turf than getting the job done. And of course MSNBC can't help but push the Mexican canard and blame the NRA for the problem because, of course, its their fault that the Obama Administration has yet to appoint a Director for the ATF. They also characterize the legislation in Congress intended to reform the ATF as an attempt to make it harder for them to do their job. Wait, they may be right if the ATF's job is to harass gun store owners. Actually, I think the legislation is intended to make the inspection of gun stores and the consequences for failing inspections less draconian and one of policy rather than of whim.

Do as I say...or else.
The City of Rock Hill wants to annex a residential development. The residents vote no. City of Rock Hill threatens to cut off their water. According to the news both sides refuse to compromise. How the hell do you compromise on annexation? A bureaucrats definition of compromise must be do as I say. Government: it's only benevolent when you're an obedient slave.

EPA Considering Ban on Traditional Ammunition
The EPA is considering a petition to ban ammunition with lead based components despite being prohibited from doing so by Congress. This strikes me as yet another attempt at gun control from the flanks. The details are here. The EPA is accepting comments on the proposal and you can do so here. Also write or email tyour Congressman or Senators and let them know you oppose this power grab and will hold them accountible if they support it. The comment period ends November 1st. Act now.

Obama: Showing his True Stripes
Obama has avoided direct confrontations with gun owners over gun control legislation. That doesn't make him our friend or indicate in any way he supports the Second Amendment. He is not above using bureaucratic arms of the government to push an anti-gun agenda. Case in point is the program that trains and approves flight deck officers to carry firearms on board aircraft. He's moving monies from the training and approval of those officers to their oversight when their is no apparent need. Is this a Second Amendment issue? Probably not but it does show where the Administration stands on the possession of firearms by civilians for defense of self or others or the prevention of man-made disasters.

FCC: Warrantless Searches
You may not know it, but if you have a wireless router, a cordless phone, remote car-door opener, baby monitor or cellphone in your house, the FCC claims the right to enter your home without a warrant at any time of the day or night in order to inspect it.So lets take a law written in 1934 intended to allow the FCC to regulate unlicensed radio sets and use it for a power grab in the now when almost every household has something that emits radio transmissions: wi fi, cellular telephones. Somebody needs to put these guys on a leash.
“Anything using RF energy — we have the right to inspect it to make sure it is not causing interference,” says FCC spokesman David Fiske. That includes devices like Wi-Fi routers that use unlicensed spectrum, Fiske says.
It's about time to push the reset button.Amen.
