History Repeats. So DO Morons.

Whatever

Day One of shutdown brings fiery rhetoric, but solutions remain elusive
I remember shutdowns during the Clinton and Obama Administration. They impacted me not at all even though those Democrat paragons organized those shutdowns to inconvenience taxpayers to the full extent possible. I doubt Trump will play such games. The clear message of this shutdown is that Democrats place the welfare of non-citizens over citizens. Strange that? Also whatever. [UPDATE]
Government Shuts Down, Nation Descends into Riots, Looting and Cannibalism
Huh? Seventeen government shutdowns? That goes to show how much impact they had on anyone outside the Beltline.

What bureaucrats with too much time on their hands do...

...to pass the time, and yes this cop is a bureaucrat in the most inane sense of the word. Twit.

Enough

Even if it is "shopped" this sets the mood perfectly. Then there is this and this. Here's Borepatch's solution. Mine would be a bit more direct. As Tam put it...

Are they trying to start a fight?

So let's pass a law...

...that will most certainly be ignored and circumvented almost immediately. We know who's pockets you guys are in, but do you think you could at least talk to the people that have a clue what they're taking about before you pass laws that accomplish nothing but making more felons?

Our would be masters keep forgetting...

...they work for us and posting this intended as a simple reminder. In posting this I'm not claiming any relationship beyond that of taxpayer to any Federal organization nor usurping their athoritah and neither was Wikipedia. They're an alleged encyclopedia you asses just like I'm an alleged blogger. More here.

I'd call it a WTF moment but...

...these twits have been doing this for seventeen years. The LA County Sheriff’s Department will destroy 8,300 confiscated firearms by having them melted into rebar. What a waste. With the economy in the pits the local bureaucrats will do this rather than sell the firearms to raise revenue. They deserve bankruptcy.

More inane stupidity from the land of Bloomberg.

A knife is a useful tool. I can carry them in my pocket so I have them available at need. And yes, part of that usefulness is that I can use it as a weapon if need be.
Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance and his fellow travelers have way too much time on their hands if this is the best they can do to justify their budgets.

No Fishing?

Obama and the environmental wackos have apparently targeted commercial and recreational fishing. Fishing bores the crap out of me [If I can't shoot at it...] but this just strikes me as really screwed up. This is one area I've always thought where conservation of resources was handled fairly well. I don't think an Executive Order for the benifit of the environemtnal wackos whose idea of conservation is no is a postive step. So maybe if you agree you should contact your Congressperson and tell them how you feel and, as always, how you intend to vote.

$2.5 million for a 30 second ad during the Superbowl.

The Census Bureau, the U. S. Government, the Obama Administration, we taxpayers just shelled out 2.5 million dollars to air an ad during the Superbowl encouraging folks to do their census duty. If that doesn’t provide a clue that the current crop of Washington nitwits just don’t get it, nothing will.

Don't worry, the TSA is on the job.

The TSA claims there are no 8 year olds on the Fed's no fly list, and he isn’t. But he shares his name with someone who is and so every time his family travels he gets the full treatment before boarding the plane. The fact that the TSA can’t look at an 8 year old and discern that he’s not the name on the list pretty much defines the problem with the TSA: failure to exercise even a modicum of discretion in their duties. It’s silly and does nothing to make me or anyone else safer. He’s an 8 year old you twits. THINK. It might actually make a difference.

The system worked.

Would that be the system that put the bomber’s name on a list after his daddy outed him to the US embassy in Nigeria but didn’t prevent him getting on a plane with a bomb? Would that be the system in Amsterdam that let him board an aircraft with a bomb in his drawers?

The system worked?

My ass you stupid bint. The fact that you would or could even say something like that and keep a straight face indicates you should seek job opportunities on a used car lot or Jim Baker's old pulpit. Oh sorry, under this Administration government service suits you fine. You fit right in.

CY and Ace do it a bit more justice than I.

Oh for crying out loud...

A first grader takes a camping utensil that includes a spoon, fork, and knife to school and the school suspends him and sends him to reform school for 45 days. The reason is their zero tolerance policy toward weapons. Zero tolerance ppolicies exist so bureuacrats don't have to make decisions or take responsibility or accept the consequences for the decisions they would have to make if such policies didn't exist. They're a form of cowardice. A knife is a tool. It doesn't become a weapon until I stick it into somebody.

So now we're banning books...

Under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA)
the federal government has now advised that children’s books published before 1985 should not be considered safe and may in many cases be unlawful to sell or distribute. Merchants, thrift stores, and booksellers may be at risk if they sell older volumes, or even give them away, without first subjecting them to testing—at prohibitive expense.
The Feds aren't enforcing this at the moment but who's to say when they will and at the possible fine of $100,000 an item that a bit of a risk to take if you're a book dealer. Effectively the Federal Government has banned all children's books published prior to 1985. The sheer number of books that could go into the trash bin is staggering. Generations of children's literature lost with a signature. Whether that was an intended or unintended consequence of the legislation that's just plain fucked up. That's ok the current Administration and Congress will just blame it on the Republicans or tell us after all "its for the children."

Cash for Clunkers

VMan on Cash for Clunkers
These poor bastards just had a goodly amount of the affordable vehicle market yanked out from under their feet by a megalomaniacal prick.

I suppose King Barack I wants them to ride public transportation. Well, they don't have fucking buses in the country, or the small towns. That's an urban construct designed to help enslave the city proles. Hamlet proles need a cheap car, you miserable wretches.
Go read the VMan. He's much more eloquent than I. This boondoggle is classic Obama/Dem bullshit. We've got people who can afford to buy a new car without any help getting a government handout to buy a more "fuel efficient" car. And what they're buying isn't necessarily "fuel efficient" just new. I can't afford to buy a new car but I'm paying for these assholes to get one at taxpayer expense, and now Congress wants to put two more billion into the trough. Arggggh!! If that's not bad enough their trashing the trade-in so they can't be resold. These bastards need to be kicked to the curb. Its time to trade up.

This is what happens when you allow...

...left wing politicans to breed and their progeny to enter politics.

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has decided "realistic" toy guns are prohibited by state law and sent a letter to retailers ordering they cease and desist.
Realistic toy guns are a tragedy waiting to happen,” Cuomo said in a statement. “Every day, these imitation weapons put the lives of both law enforcement and civilians at risk. This is a public safety matter, plain and simple, and we will not permit these companies to profit by making our streets more dangerous.”
Have you noticed lately that the easiest way to get something banned is to claim it is either "for the children" or it placed "law enforcement officers lives at risk." A toy gun does not place a cop's life at risk. It may place the life of the stupid son of a bitch who points the toy gun at a cop at risk. Said cop potentially might double tap two rounds center mass not knowing it's a toy gun but I'm not sure how that places the cop at risk. I'm almost half a century old and growing up managed to play with some fairly realistic toy guns without getting shot so forgive me if I see an agenda behind Cuomo's actions beyond "public safety". He a dick and he's pushing gun control even if it's toy gun control. Cuomo specifically names the Rhode Island Novelty Co. and these are examples from their on line catalog of the toy guns they sell. "Realistic" aren't they?
