Police Say Officers Shoot 3 Over New Year Gunfire

Via The War On Guns we get this story out of and 19ActionNews.com in Columbus Ohio.

So a police officer comes up on a twit firing his gun into the air. He orders him to stop and drop the gun. Twit does not and the officer shoots him in the arm. In Columbus Ohio this happened three times on New Years Eve. Three twits brought in the New Year by firing their handguns into the air. The result was a man shot in the leg, another shot in the hand, and a woman shot in the leg. I’m not going to comment on the appropriateness of the officers taking the shot. I wasn’t there and in the end it’s a judgment call and the police aren’t going to give a journalist enough information for us to read and make that judgment.

I will say this. Down here in North Carolina police are taught to shoot center mass. Don’t wing ‘em or shoot the gun from their hands. If the situation calls for deadly force you shoot ‘em center mass. If you aren’t justified in using deadly force you don’t fire at all. The three twits should be thanking God they are still breathing and where hit only in the hand, arm, and leg. This story isn’t so much about the officers deciding to shoot but their marksmanship and that’s really fricking scary.
