An Observation

The ATF is buying 302 Colt M4 Carbines.

The Federal Government is giving military surplus rifles [M16/M4], along with other surplus military toys, away to local law enforcement for free. Since the military has all these surplus rifles laying around, why can't the ATF and other three letter agencies meet their alleged need for military grade rifles from the military's already existing stockpile instead of buying new and save us poor taxpayers a few dollars. Maybe there is a rule of which I am unaware or maybe the rule is just screw the us guys in flyover country.

Just saying...

Good Work

In Ohio, a lady was out walking her dog when two thugs came out of the woods and threatened to abduct her. They had a baseball bat. She had a pistol which she drew from her pocket. They reconsidered and fled the area.

DAN SPIEGLE original art, BAD BOYS #4 pg 3

I bought this piece of original art by Dan Spiegle recently on eBay. It's marked as the third page of Bad Boys #4. The problem is I can't find a record of a Bad Boys comic either in the Overstreet Price Guide or online. The dealer I purchased it from isn't any help. The got it from an estate and the guy who might have answered the question is the estate. So on the off chance someone out there has a clue...leave a comment with an email address. I'll be in touch.

Update: Bad Boys was a TSR game and back-up feature in their Warhawks comic book. That information was enough to raise the price of my page's companion pieces by $30 each when I emailed this info to the dealer I purchased it from. Glad I got mine when I did.

It's to delay with minimum response until it's too fucking late to do anything. Just saying...
Latest Big Lie: ‘We Have No Strategy’

It's what they do.

In Washington State...

Supporters of I-594 claim 80% of prison inmates obtained guns through private transfers, but according to the U.S. Department of Justice statistics from 1993-2011 and again in 2013, 77% got them through “fencing, drug dealers, burglary, or other on-the-street illegal black-market operations.” Opponents say this law won’t have any effect on criminals getting guns.
You'll notice here that the prohibitionists provide a statistic to prove their case but neglect to provide details that would show their statistic is utter bullshit. Like I said, they lie. Here it is by omission.

The other issue here is we have billionaires supporting gun control with large cash donations. Billionaires that have no need to own a personal weapon for self-defense because they have protective details armed to the teeth. Gun control is for the little people. Hypocrisy is for the rich.

Surprised it hadn't happened sooner.

A Kangaroo Court

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

There's a simple solution to this problem.

NYPD brass to cops: Stop using Kahr K-9 semi-automatic pistol as an off-duty gun
TRAIN your officers to keep their damn finger off the trigger until they're ready to shoot. OK it is NYC. Maybe it's not so simple.

That's what I got for you.

In Luzerne County PA, two thugs tried to rob a guy.
One suspect pointed a gun at the victim and said, “What do you got for me?"
The victim knocked the thug's gun aside and showed him his own semi-automatic pistol. The thugs ran.

This is what gun control...

...will do for your state.

Police and "military style weapons".

NYT poll: 65% of whites, 80% of blacks say police shouldn’t have military-style weapons
The issue I have with militarization of the police isn't with the toys they have with one exception which I'll get to in a bit. The problem is the police are paramilitary organizations and too many emphasize the military rather than the para. Police officers call the people they serve civilians like they themselves aren't. They see themselves as better than the people the serve. That's the core problem with this militarization of the police. I have no problem with law enforcement using armored vehicles to provide cover for officers during a riot. Same for semi-automatic rifles, military grade body armor, or helmets.

I do have a problem when departments use SWAT teams armed with these items to serve search warrants that are no more high risk than crossing the street. The problem isn't the equipment the local police have. It's the attitude that comes with it, and that's the militarization of which we need to be wary.

Which brings me to that exception I spoke of earlier. I DO have a problem with police having automatic and/or select fire weapons when the local population can't or they are so regulated that it is next to impossible for us "civilians" to get them. If I can't have a magazine that holds more than ten rounds they don't need them. If they need some item to defend themselves then an argument can be made that the "civilian" population needs them as well. Whatever regulation I'm subjected to should apply to the police as well, because they aren't above us. They are us.

Now THAT'S funny.

Not so much the picture as this headline.

If ISIS Beheaded A Golf Club Obama Would Bomb Their Ass Into Oblivion

It's what they do.

They lie.

Media Matters, a fully owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party and the progressive cause, says Bloomberg doesn't want to ban your guns because, well, he says so. They ignore his actions which say otherwise. That ignorance is purposeful and so a lie. No matter.  No one outside the Left's True Believers pays them the slightest attention anyway.

I like time travel stories and have an interest in Scottish history but I'd kept putting off reading these for some reason until I watched the first episode of the recent TV adaptation. I like 'em enough to have read the first two in the series back to back. I'll read the rest. Good stuff.

A funny...

How many rounds do you shoot to stop the threat?

As many as it takes.

Dr. Michael M. Baden, how 'bout you refrain from pretending to be an expert on matters you obviously don't know fuck all about and the rest of us will keep our opinions on forensic pathology to ourselves.

"In my capacity as the forensic examiner for the New York State Police, I would say, ‘You’re not supposed to shoot so many times,’ ” said Dr. Baden, who retired from the state police in 2011. “Right now there is too little information to forensically reconstruct the shooting."

Maybe she should check out the internet.

Blake, who was appointed by President Bill Clinton, wrote that she was not convinced that assault rifles such as the AR-15 are used regularly for self-defense. She wrote that they seemed to be "military style weapons designed for offensive use."
It's not hard to find examples such as here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. All it takes is a little due diligence. Sounds like a judge who has let her personal bias inform her decision.

Goldsboro woman shoots suspect during break-in

In Goldsboro NC, a homeowner noticed the padlock was missing from the shed behind her house. When she went to check it out an evil git rushed her from inside the shed. For his trouble, she shot him in the chest. The wound wasn't fatal but he's in the hospital with his next stop the local lock-up.

Stop Playing With It.

Employee accidentally shoots himself inside Shawnee strip mall store
Leave it in the holster unless you got somebody who needs shooting, and once again the proper descriptive term for this discharge is negligently. He may not have meant to shoot himself in the leg, but it won't no fricking accident.
