Theater of Spies by S. M. Stirling

Stirling's alternate history of World War 1 continues with Black Chamber agent Luz O'Malley and her companion Ciara Whelan back in Germany ferreting out the Kaiser's new secret weapon. Very well done but that pretty much expected of Stirling. Highly Recommended.

Perimeter and The Inside Man by M. A. Rothman

These are the first two books, of what I hope are many, in the Levi Yoder series. I don't remember when I picked this up or who recommended it. I'd had it for a few months and just picked it up. I couldn't put it down until done. Levi is a fixer for the mob. He is miraculously cured of cancer the same day his wife is killed. he turns his back on the world and begins a ten year journey that begins in Japan and ends in Nepal only to find himself a target of the Russian mob and at the center of an international crisis. In the second novel he finds himself joining a war against the sex trafficking industry. I liked them both and recommend them highly. Hey. at $5 a hit, what's to lose?

It is What They Do...

Man paralyzed by concealed carry holder in 2017 dies from injuries, police say
The story has the facts in the last two paragraphs but the headline is written to mislead. The facts are that a dumb shit who pointed a gun at a guy with a CCH, and got shot and charged for his trouble, has finally dies of his wounds. The crucial facts of the incident are left out of the headline to make the concealed carry permit holder the bad guy and push an agenda. It's what they do.

Quote of the Day

n something that I find profoundly troubling when I’ve had this discussion before, I’ve had a Caring Liberal tell me that the example of Iraq doesn’t apply because “we kept the gloves on”, whereas fighting America’s gun nuts would be a righteous total war with nothing held back… Holy shit, I’ve got to wonder about the mentality of people who demand rigorous ROEs to prevent civilian casualties in a foreign country, are blood thirsty enough to carpet bomb Texas.

You really hate us, and then act confused why we want to keep our guns? But I don’t think unrelenting total war against everyone who has ever disagreed with you on Facebook is going to be quite as clean as you expect. - Larry Corriea

I may have posted this previously, but it bears repeating. Gunowners are subhuman to the Left and they want us dead.

We Can But Hope

2A Attorney: 70% of N.J. gun laws could go away if SCOTUS takes up this case on May 23rd.
And a decision for strict scrutiny wouldn't be a bad thing for the rest of us.

The Berlin Project by Gregory Benford

Benford offers an alternate history of America's development and use of the first atomic bomb. The pivot point is the method used to produce the materials needed for the bomb allowing earlier development and a different target: Berlin. It's a little dry at points but still interesting and entertaining. Recommended.

The Media’s Sudden Disinterest in the Denver STEM School Shooting Proves Greater Interests In Agendas than You
The shooters were of protected classes: gay and transgendered. Also, the STEM kids pushed back at the politicization of the shooting during a vigil. This might offer insight into the actions and agendas of out media.

Still digging Lindsey 2.0
...except on gun control. There, he still seems to be pre John McCain kicking the bucket Graham, and I have a f**king problem with that.
Graham says the panel will discuss “red flag” laws that allow courts to take away firearms from some suspected dangerous individuals.
