And So It Begins

Will the Supreme Court Use a New York City Regulation to Strike Down Gun Laws?
A Leftist response to potential changes resulting in the Supreme Court hearing New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York, New York. Oh, and more Kavanaugh hate. It occurs to me that a right that doesn't travel as you do isn't really a right. What kind of hell would break out if a local municipality decided your right to free speech ended at your front door. It doesn't and it shouldn't for the Second Amendment either. Expect more doom saying from the Left as the court date closes in.

Take a deep breath and give the man his three weeks or more. What Trump and his allies in the Senate have accomplished with judicial nominations alone should earn him our continued support. Breathe, and let's see what happens next.

Just Saying...

If you are going to restore a felon's rights, restore them all, not just the one that benefits Democrats. If a felon can't be trusted with his Second Amendment rights, he damn sure can't be trusted with the franchise.

Recently Read

Dipped, Stripped, and Dead, French Polished Murder, Draw One in the Dark, and Gentleman Takes a Chance are all by Sarah Hoyt. They take place in the same world but the first two are mysteries while the last two are urban fantasy. All are good. The bad guys in the Dyce Dare mysteries aren't hard figure out but as I've said before it's not where you end up but how you get there that makes it fun. They made me laugh. That alone is worth the price of the books. The dialogue had a Rolling Stones feel to it. I still have a third in the series to go.

The others noted above are part of Hoyt's Shifter Trilogy. They are very well written and the world building works. The third in the series is already in the queue awaiting it's turn. Again, highly recommended.

How Many Guns are There in the USA?

The writer argues that there is no correlation between our homicide rate and the number of guns in the good old USA. That argument is interesting in and of itself but it was the quote on the number of guns in the USA that struck me and how much it would cost to confiscate them all. Under the "Australian" model: trillions, and that's will Australian level compliance which was maybe 30%. Under the New York SAFE ACT compliance was around 40% in a blue state. In a red state don't hold your breath.
By his take, it’s quite possible that the total number of guns is vastly under reported, and the true number is between 329 million and 660 million, with a reasonable guess being 413 million firearms.
Here's the article he got his numbers from.
Total US Firearms: Not 300 Million, but 412-660 Million?
The Left is living in a gun control confiscation fantasy.
