fantiSci 2021

That's how I spent most of my weekend. fantiSci is a small science fiction convention held in Durham, NC. I'd say it was dominated by Baen and Chris Kennedy Publishing. It was my first non comic book related convention, so there was a bit o culture shock and learning curve, but once I adjusted, I had fun. I got to meet authors Larry Corriea, David Weber, D. J. Butler, Mel Todd, Larry Hoy and an abundance of other nice people. Fun was had by all including me. I'm planning to do it again next year.

Mira Furlan, ‘Babylon 5’ and ‘Lost’ Actress, Dies at 65

Babylon 5 was among the best of Science fiction shows. I loved that show and never missed it. I go back and rewatch it periodically. It's that good. Mira Furlan helped make it so. She will be missed.

Ghost In The Shell: The New Movie [2015]

I'm a big fan of this series both the theactrical films and the television series. Actually I think I like Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex 1st andf 2nd Gig best. They are all good solid science fiction. Last year a new four part series was released and this movies carries that version on. I doubt it will see a theater local to me so I'll have to wait for a DVD. Still looking forward to it.

Tales of Honor: Bred to Kill

There is a Honor Harrington comic book now. Here is a full issue for free. I think they did a damn good job. This is issue zero for the second volume. The art is much nicer than the first round.

Dimension X: Destination Moon

One of my favorite films is George Pal's Destination Moon primarily because of Robert Heinlein's involvement in the production. Apparently there was a radio play based on the film. I learned about it at Heinleinblog by way of Alphecca, but his links were dead. I found these elsewhere.
