A lesson of sorts

My wife considers the Buckmark "her" gun. I took it to the range several months back to shoot and clean it. I put it back into the box and returned it to her. Last night we had a crisis that required that she travel a couple of counties over while I watched the kids. She called me and asked why her gun was unloaded. I told her because she didn't load it. She asked "since when do you leave a gun unloaded?" My response was "since always if I'm not carrying it. I had a loaded weapon when I left the range it just wasn't that one. If it's "your" gun you need to make sure its duty ready." If you depend on anyone else to do it you're going to be shit creek.
