Statists always blame the NRA or the "gun lobby" when they get thier asses handed to them in the legislature or during an election. The lesson of the Colorado Recalls wasn't "fear the gun lobby". They spent less than a sixth of what Bloomberg and his fellow travelers did, and they came late to the fight. The lesson was don't piss off your constituents without expecting a response. Morse and Giron abused the process to push their agenda and locals rose up and kicked them to the curb.

The lesson? Abuse the legislative process and you will be made to pay.

This would penalize States that have "Stand Your Ground" laws by withholding grant money. According to its authors...

Shoot-first' laws have already cost too many lives. In Florida alone, deaths due to self-defense have tripled since the law was enacted. Federal money shouldn't be spent supporting states with laws that endanger their own people

If the deaths were from self-defense then the people endangered are the ones that need to be. This is only anti-gun Democrats using Martin's death to push their agenda. Call your Representatives and let's see if we can squash this thing.

I was cruising the web this evening...

...and saw this article posted at another paper linked through someone's blog [sorry can't remember who's]. It's a story on the ATF's National Tracing Center, and it pretty much covers the same old story. Their job is made oh so much more difficult because of Congress and the gun lobby, and then we get the same old story that 70 percent of guns traced for the Mexican government came from the United States. Blood pressure spiked and I continued to cruise while thinking of just how and what to write beyond "bullshit!" when, as happens way too often lately, I found someone else's had already beat me to it. Other than I'd describe what Hearst is doing as pimping for the ATF, I got no problem with a thing he wrote. Go read what the pistolero has to say.
