What do I know?
We have this murderer, Assad, on one side, and rebel forces dominated by Al-Qaeda on the other. Ya know, the guys who murdered Americans on 9/11. So why should we care one damn bit who wins. Unless we're striking both sides, whatever we do, we lose. Just saying...

Speaker Boehner, stop dragging your ass...
...and issue the contempt citation to Holder, or admit you've no interest in bringing the Obama administration to task for Fast and Furious and take the consequences. It's time for this political theater to end.

SOPA and you
How SOPA could effect the run of the mill internet user even if they didn't do a damn thing wrong.
Call your representatives in Congress and ask them to oppose this even if they are already bought and paid for by Hollywood and the RIAA. Who knows...maybe they'll listen

I saw this quote...
...posted over at Popehat.
Just saying…
When people are doing things that are detrimental to their own well being, then government should step in -- New York State Senator Karl KrugerKruger is apparently involved in legislation to restrict the insanity called distracted walking. I really don’t intend this as violent threatening rhetoric, but I think elected fuckwits that engage in legislative activity that is detrimental to the personal freedoms of those they were elected to serve should be stripped naked, smeared with honey, hogtied, then dropped into Jellystone so Yogi and Boo Boo can have their way with them.

Our future?
This was released a couple of months back but I never saw it then. I'm sure most of you have already seen it. I'm posting it anyway. Scary stuff.

No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session. - Mark Twain
Today's Republicans, imbued with a sense that Washington's priorities have become muddled, contend that most commemorations are a waste of floor time needed for more pressing matters. And I contend that anything that prevents you fuckwits [that’s a bipartisan fuckwits by the by] from attending to those pressing matters is all and good for the rest of us. A day where Congress accomplishes absolutely nothing is a damn good day and saves us from the intended and unintended consequences of their actions.

Vindictive...
A lame duck session of Congress. Just what we need. Imagine what opportunities the losers have to screw with us for kicking them to the curb. Hopefully all we'll get is the Congressional equivalent of pulling the "w" key off the White House keyboards, but I doubt it.

The Stupid Party
Victory is within their grasp and the buggers see it as an opportunity to repeat the mistakes that cost them their majorities in 2006.
Vote 'em all the hell out.
H/T to Glenn.
In March, House Republicans made an important move to restore their credibility as the party of fiscal discipline when every one of them voted to ban earmarks. "Now House Republicans are going to the American people and saying we want a clean break from the runaway spending in the past. And that's going to be quite a contrast from this Congress and the administration," House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence crowed. The problem is they can't and don't acknowledge they've made mistakes. They can't resist that urge to stick their hands in the till again.
That was then. This is apparently now: "With their eyes on a House majority, Republicans are leaving the door open to allowing earmarks after a one-year party-imposed moratorium," reported Politico on Friday. Republican leaders such as House Minority Leader John Boehner and Whip Eric Cantor are suddenly hedging on the issue. Perhaps we need to remind the would-be House leadership why they should continue to steer clear of earmarks
Vote 'em all the hell out.

I'm curious, can you actually...
...legally defame a politician by commenting on his actions, or lack thereof, as a politician? Is it defamation if it's true? In Kansas the act will at least get you arrested. It'll be interesting to see what happens when this gets to court.

DISCLOSE passes the House.
Here's the roll call. The NRA might not rate these guys on their vote but the rest of damn well ought to. Oh, and the guys that didn't vote? No vote was a no vote on this one. They need to pay the price come November.

Shoot to...
Apparently some twit politician in New York City wants to require police shoot to stop the bad guy rather than shoot to kill. Stupidity at this level seems to come mostly from large metropolitan areas.
I was taught that if the situation required you to use your weapon you always shoot to stop. You fire two rounds center mass. That would be the center of the chest for those of you who are New York City politicians. If that didn’t have the desired effect you shoot him again and again until the threat is stopped…permanently.
This politician apparently isn’t bright enough to understand that most police officers under stress will be lucky to hit the largest part of the bad guy and a hit to the arm or leg gonna be kinda like throwing snakes eyes.
