MYODB

There is a bill in the Florida Legislature that would make it a felony for a Doctor to ask you about your ownership of firearms. It has the support of the NRA. I'm sure there heart is in the right place but there are more important issues right now. Legislatures and the NRA need to mind their own business. I'm perfectly capable of telling a nosy medical professional in full little tin god mode to pound sand. They can ask. I don't have to tell.

H/T to Sebastian.

The problem is not quacks asking adults if they own a gun. The problem is medical personnel asking unwary children and vulnerable adults if anyone in the household has a gun.

Given the current drive to bar guns to anyone who has ever had a psych evaluation that poses a severe danger to a great many of us' Second Amendment Rights.

Point.

So pass a law that prohibits them from entering the information into a medical record or keeping a written or electronic record. Their First Amendment rights aren't violated, they get to give their "safety talk", and medical records can't serve as a de facto gun registry.
