More on the knife ban
I added Knife Rights to my list of organisations on the left. The revocation of findings by Customs has the potential to ban any knife you can open with one hand. That would be any knife with a thumb nub for ease of opening. I carry a knife everywhere I carry a gun. It is not only a tool of self-defense but a tool. The ability to open and close it one-handed is indispensable when you're doing any kind of work with your hands. I also don't care to carry a fixed blade concealed because in North Carolina it is considered a concealed weapon whereas a folder is not. So call your representatives and see if we can get this stupidity aborted before it goes into effect.

Naivete?
Four-and-a-half months into his Administration, it sounds like there is a difference between Candidate Obama and President Obama.Oh my god Paul. You though he'd stay bought. Shit, I'm just a hick from North Carolina and I knew he was lying through his teeth. You're a "political sophisticate" wise in the ways of Washington politics and you couldn't figure that out?
Paul, his only goal was to get elected, and now all he and his Democratic co-conspirators care about now is staying in office with no care as to what damage they do to make it happen. You're just trash left in his wake.

...he’s sort of God.
If Evan Thomas is going to insist on showing his adoration for Obama in this manner maybe he should buy a pair of these. It'd certainly save wear on the pants. Oh, and he probably needs a good mouthwash as well.

Weekend Movies
I watched UP and it's worth the eight bucks though maybe not the $250,000 fine if you get caught in possession of a bootleg copy.
Terminator Salvation is strong through the first three quarters. It doesn't quite fall apart in the last quarter but it does lose it way. It's still worth watching with lots of gun play and explosions. It's also got a computer generated Governator. Considering what a waste he's been as a politician it's somewhat enjoyable to see him get blow to hell on camera even if it is computer generated.

Proposed pocket knife ban?
Do ya get the feeling that these fucktards think we're living in Great Britain? So you can't get anywhere banning guns? Let's go for knives. This ban would include not only switchblades [already banned] but assisted opening knives and maybe even folders that you can flick open with your thumb. Jehoshaphat! Enough already. Call you Representatives or Senators maybe someone can stop this before it gets outta hand.

Liberty Dollars
A business has the gall to produce coinage in silver and gold to compete with the U. S. Government's paper fiat money and pot metal coinage. Of course they get arrested and the silver and gold seized. Me, I'd love to go into to a store to make a purchase and get silver coins as change. It's kinda like getting something for nothing. I'd also like to know if the FBI Agent who said this...
“Consumers were using their hard-earned money to buy goods and services, then getting fake change in return.”...was able to keep a straight face when he did? The guys at Liberty Dollars had to know this was going to happen. One thing you can guarantee is that no government is going to allow direct competition against itself.

"U will loose"
It's like this. If you have a problem with college parties maybe you ought not to buy a house in a neighborhood right next door to the University. Likewise, if the sound of gunfire throughout the day bothers you, don't buy a house next door to a range. Especially if the range has been in business at that location for years and you knew it when you bought the house.
Then when the new neighbors can't get their way, they do shit like this. It's about what we've come to expect from the antis. Oh and maybe these "loosers" ought to learn to spell.

Quote of the Day
The bully succeeds by terrorizing one victim at a time, playing on the fear engendered in the other potential victims. When one kid stands against him and the entire schoolyard, by his example, recognizes the power of numbers, the bully is finished.

TN: Veto Override
The Tennessee state House overrode Gov. Bredesen's veto of the guns in restaurants bill yesterday. Their state Senate followed suit today. Uncle calls it...
a civil rights victory.I have to agree. Now we need to get something similar passed in North Carolina.

David Carradine RIP
David Carradine hung himself: kinda, sorta, maybe. Kung Fu was a fond childhood memory and probably had a bit to do with my taking up the martial arts. He was in a other few things I liked, but well.... My condolences to his family.

The age of wuss is...
...upon us. Actually, it has been for a while. A prime example is this charlie-foxtrot today at Princeton. They shut the campus down for an hour because four "juveniles" came on campus and one had a dark green plastic "toy" gun. The police "investigated" the matter and the press actually reported the story. All involved should have been utterly embarrassed by their reactions. Wusssss.

Quote of the Day
"...it is kind of hard to tell them apart, and no, not just because both have dark skin and are narcissistic metro-sexuals . . . its because both are offering the same tyranny of animal pleasures, complete safety and dehumanizing loss of freewill that De Tocqueville predicted so long ago.”

Helmke on Sotomayor
The fact that Paul Helmke of the Brady Campaign supports the nomination of Sotomayor to the Supreme Court strikes me as a damn good reason to oppose the nomination. Call or write your Senator.
