Amid Surge in Knife Violence, British Supermarket Chain Pulls Kitchen Knives off ShelvesBritain serves as a case study in what happens when you pass laws that disarm the good people. The bad people ignore them and keep doing bad things. Britain is what lies at the bottom of the slippery slope.

In [formerly] Great Britain
This is what lies at the bottom of the slippery slope. Subjects not citizens. That was painful to watch.

They are NEVER Satisfied
New York ‘Common Sense’ Gun Bill Could Get People KilledAnd they claim they don't want our guns. Not satisfied with SAFE Act citizen disarmament measures (because they will never be satisfied), New York tyrannophiles are proposing yet another insidious infringement that will not only result in sweeping gun bans, but will render allowable guns dangerous to their owners as well as to others when the guns are deployed in self-defense. Senate Bill S3444, authored and sponsored wholly by Democrats, will all but ensure more injuries and deaths in the name of protecting children.

In [formerly] Great Britain...
Call for ban on sale of gun magazines to children gets massive public support...Gun Magazines = Pornography.
If they aren't at the bottom of the slippery slope they are damn well near it.

There's a bill in Congress that...
...would require ISPs to keep records of where their customers surf the web. Child pornography is the excuse given but can you really imagine the Federal Government being able to keep their sticky fingers out of the data if some Federal Agency suddenly discovers a need. I mean, it'd probably be very helpful in investigations of copyright infringement and harassment of the political opposition. This is just another fucking slippery slope and child pornography is just the excuse. Enough already. More here.

UK: Never let a crisis go to waste
Great Britain’s Prime Minister, David Cameron, may not be jumping on the “we have to do something now” bandwagon after the murder of 12 people last week but, as expected, others are. That’s pretty much to be expected and I expect the PM’s request for a deliberative rather than knee jerk response is going to fall on deaf ears. When you’re at the near bottom of the slippery slope, it’s hard to climb back up.

Surprising Restraint
Mr. Cameron said the government would do everything it could to “mend the hurt” caused by the shootings. But while laws and practices involved in gun ownership will be reviewed, he said, there is not always “an instant legislative or regulatory answer.”That doesn't mean they still won't ban their shotguns and bolt action .22s. They'll just do it in a deliberative rather than knee jerk manner. Britain is too far down the slippery slope to reverse direction. Kevin, at TSM, noted that there are no more than 1% of the population with firearm's certificates and the rest have been brainwashed to know better. Too late, but the fact that a British politician, the Prime Minister no less, would even make that statement gives him a bit of credit in my book. Now if he would admit that gun control has caused as many or more problems than its solved I might even vote for him...if I lived in the Brady Paradise.

The Slippery Slope
Go read this at Kevin's then read the comments. The path the Left is taking us down isn't new. The Brits have already walked it.
