Innocent bodega worker shot and killed by cop responding to armed robbery

In New York City, a bystander fleeing from a robbery was shot by a police officer when he ran into the officer. The officer discharged his pistol when the bystander slammed into him. At least, that the NYPD's story, and they're sticking to it.
Cops believe the gun accidentally discharged.
In any event, when a police officer has his finger on the trigger and "the gun" unintentionally goes off, it's negligence not accident.

Maybe Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and his staff should read this.
