For a job well done…

a reward.

An employee at Wal-Mart sees a man trying to steal a computer and stops the theft. Corporate policy is that only managers and asset protection employees can stop a thief stealing product. Her reward is termination.

I suspect lawyers and fear of liability are the culprits here and that It’s cheaper to lose product than pay for an employee's injuries or fight the bullshit lawsuits that might arise. BUT this employee tried to do right by her employers, earn her shekels, and got fired as a result. My question for the brave lady is did anyone ever tell you that you were stand there like a lump on a log while the thief walked out with Wal-Mart’s property? If not hire your own lawyer. That’s their reward. And while a job is a job in this economy this brave lady can do better.

H/T to Dick.
