VA: Gov plans to veto concealed carry in restaurants.

The Virginia General Assembly recently passed a law that would allow concealed carry permit holders to carry inside restaurants that serve alcohol.
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine said today he would veto legislation passed by the General Assembly yesterday that would allow holders of concealed weapons permits to bring their hidden guns into establishments that serve alcohol. “I’m very nervous about the public safety impact of that bill,“ the governor said...
There seems to be this meme going around among gun haters that we can't trust concealed carry permit holders inside restaurants that serve alcohol. Ya know they get drunk and shoot the place up. The fact is there is nothing to stop permit holders getting drunk someplace other than a restaurant and shooting the place up but ya know what? It hasn't happened. Concealed Carry Permit Holders are responsible Gov. Kaine and aren't likely to drink and carry anymore than they are drink and drive. If you don't have it already up there in Virginia, why don't ya'll pass a law that prohibits anyone from carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and let those that do carry go into restaurants that serve alcohol as long as they don't imbibe? What? Not reasonable enough for ya?
