(David)Chappelle informed the audience "I did not write a speech." During his impromptu remarks, he defended freedom of speech when talking about comedians he knows who are "very racist."

"(I) don't get mad at 'em, don't hate on 'em," he said. "Man, it's not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. Second Amendment is just in case the First one doesn't work out."

From Montana:

In 2016, the City of Missoula, a self-governing municipality, adopted Ordinance 3581, which imposed a requirement upon persons purchasing or otherwise receiving a firearm in the City to pass a national instant background check. The Attorney General issued an opinion concluding that cities with self-government powers were prohibited by Montana law from enforcing a local regulation or ordinance requiring background checks of firearm sales or transfers. The City filed this action challenging the Attorney General's opinion and seeking a declaration that the ordinance was lawful. The district court concluded that the ordinance was authorized under the statutory exception in Mont. Code Ann. 45-8-351(2) and entered summary judgment for the City. The Supreme Court reversed, holding that the express statutory prohibition upon cities in section 45-8-351(1) is a limitation on the City's self-governing powers.

Also if the government applies the same rational to your right to free speech and you want to apply my right to bear arms, you'd be writing with a quill pen and have to learn how to spell. How could the Founders have imagined word processors on a laptop or spell check?

New on the Sidebar [Bumped]

You might notice the Original Comic Art on the sidebar. I collect originals when I can afford them. The Preacher pages I've owned since the 90's. The others I started buying around 2014. I'm cheap. I look for nice samples of artists I like but steer away from the expensive character pages when possible. The prices on original art have jumped the shark and most of what I like isn't within reach, but deals are still there. Just gotta hunt and be patient. Also I located a large format scanner at a local library so better scans of some of the pieces are on the way. Enjoy.
