Consequences of Obamacare

But then Obamacare isn't intended to work, just f**k up our healthcare system so thoroughly the people will "demand" single payer.

Slippery Slope

I've always thought Obamacare was intentionally designed to be a burden on Americans so that single-payer would seem a better alternative.
Reid says Obamacare just a step toward eventual single-payer system
Defund it.

One man's Constution is another man's toilet paper.

A Federal Judge in Florida has found Obama’s Health Care Law to be unconstitutional. My understanding is that although the judge did not issue an injunction ordering that implementation of the law be stopped, the decision itself serves the same purpose. The White House has said it will proceed with implementation regardless of the decision. The White House is ignoring a Federal Judge’s order because it doesn’t agree with it. So I guess that means President Obama and his toadies don’t consider themselves subject to the Judicial Branch [Senator Schumer, THAT would be the third branch of the Federal Government]. Not surprising. I get the feeling Obama doesn’t consider himself subject to much of anything. The only question left is what recourse is left to the rest of us?

H/T to Kevin.

Obamacare Unconstitutional...

...in at least one Federal Court. At least one Federal judge isn't drunk on the Commerce Clause.

Saturday, November 6, 2010

And suddenly, Mr. President...

...you give a shit about paying for the current level of government spending? This didn't occur to you when you were shoving your multi-trillion dollar health care scheme down our throats, or is it simple self-delusion?
"At a time when we are going to ask folks across the board to make such difficult sacrifices, I don’t see how we can afford to borrow an additional $700 billion from other countries to make all the Bush tax cuts permanent, even for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans," the president said. "We’d be digging ourselves into an even deeper fiscal hole and passing the burden on to our children."
Keep it up. It should make the Tea Party's job in 2012 even easier.

It's a tax not a penalty, so sayeth the DOJ

Maybe I’m a bit slow, but in regard to healthcare the DOJ is now claiming in their response to the many state lawsuits against this BS that the “penalty” I have to pay if I don't have insurance is a tax and so Obamacare is constitutional under the Fed’s authority to tax. How is it a tax if you only have to pay it if you refuse to buy health insurance? I guess a tax is anything the Fed says it is.

It’s an old joke, but...

...do you know how to tell when a politician lying?
It’s unfortunate that at a time when our nation is facing enormous challenges, many in Congress have decided to delay critical nominations for political purposes. - President Barak Obama
To read that you would think the Prez appointed Dr. Donald Berwick by recess appointment because of obstruction by Republicans. Except there was none. In fact, Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican, had asked that a hearing be scheduled to discuss Berwick’s appointment. Senators Harry Reid and Max Baucus, both Democrats, delayed. Why? The last thing the Democrats want before the mid-term elections is discussions of Obamacare and Berwick’s adoration of the British NHS and healthcare rationing [death panels].

Mr. President, your lips are moving.

Don't worry Papa O will foot the bill...

The federal government will shoulder almost the entire cost of the Medicaid expansion established in the new health reform law, according to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation study, the Washington Post reports.

So that would mean my Federal taxes rather than my State taxes will be paying for Obamacare. That means, you twits, taxpayers will be footing the bill no matter what wealth redistribution outlet it’s funneled through. As Claire Wolfe says…
…it’s no wonder that 24 percent of Americans believe the fedgov has its own money supply, completely independent of taxpayers.
H/T to Claire.

It would serve 'em right

NYT: ObamaCare may have accidentally stripped Congress of health coverage

That's funny. Congress pushed through a bill they didn't read and screwed up their own health coverage. I'm sure they'll address this problem immediately. What I'll be interested to see is if anyone from the GOP opposes a fix.

Illinois Congressman Phil Hare...

...on Obamacare.
I don't worry about the constitution.
And you don't know the difference between the U. S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence either.

Twit.

November can't come soon enough.

Quote of the day - part 2

I don’t care if we have to rescind this bullshit through the courts, elections, legislative tomfoolery or outright violence, but this travesty will not stand. It is my responsibility as a father and duty as a free man, and I am proud to bear it.
Hell yes!

H/T to Kevin.

Over at the Wall Street Journal...

...is a summary of the deals Pelosi and her enforcers made to force passage of Obamacare in the House. I shouldn't be suprised. Looks like politics as usual. I am angry that those gits in Congress passed that horror even when it was clear a majority of Americans opposed that bill. They sold my children's birthright with its passage so hell yes I'm angry.

Thanks to Clair.
