Zero tolerance policies ignore the simple fact that kids often behave childishly. These policies strip away all context and intent, essentially treating the kids involved in the aforementioned incidents as actual criminals. And they’re not.

Zero tolerance policies are about liability and potential law suits and have not one damn thing to do with protecting the children.

In Wayne County NC the staff of a Middle School decided to give the kids a lesson is situational awareness by having a staff member pretend to be an armed robber and walk the hallways in a ski mask and carrying a fake gun. The schools system's information officer claimed the exercise was apprppriate but admitted the way it was carried out "lacked judgement" and they are investigating the matter. The employee who dressed up may face disciplinary actions. Why only him? Whoever had anything to do with setting up this exercise "lacked judgment" and their continued employment should be under review.

Intolerance is Tolerance

I seem to recall that our forefathers came to these shores to escape religious intolerance. Now we have an Attorney General that defines that same intolerance as tolerance. That's pretty messed up. How long before he tries to apply the same definitions to American home schoolers?

“Attorney General Holder is trying to seek dismissal of this case because he believes that targeting specific groups in the name of tolerance is within the normal legitimate functions of government,” said Michael Farris, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association. “This cannot be the ultimate position of the United States without denying the essence of our commitment to liberty.”

They don't want this case tried in the press...

...unless they're the one's trying it.
