...and the theaters have eff all to do with that.

The key here is what will get us out of the house to see a movie in a giant dark room with two hundred strangers. I think it will be a movie that is so good as to need to be seen on a BIG screen. I can get sushi at a number of places and not chow down on forty dollars worth of sushi or sashimi or whatever while watching some mediocre move all slack-jawed and glassy-eyed, unaware of exactly what or how much I ate.
ps. The most memorable movie I ever say on a giant screen was the first Star Wars film (part 4; a New Hope).
