Sarge,
Just FYI, the Nagant is one of two comercially produced (that I know of) revolvers that can be effectively "suppressed." The second revolver is the Dan Wesson (of Smith & Wesson fame) revolver. The problems associated with scilencing a revolver come from the gap between the face of the cylinder and the breach end of the barrel. The Nagant overcomes this problem through a camming action that forces the cylinder forward into the breach end of the barrel, this action is then enhanced by the design of the nagant cartrige, in which the case mouth is longer the projectile. The end of the case mouth expands into the breach end of the barrel thereby creating a tighter seal than just the camming action of the cylinder. The Wesson revolvers have a cylinder that can be timed to decrease the gap between the face of the cylinder and the breach end of the barrel.
Let me know if you have any interest in shooting a Nagant revolver. I have one in my collection. The trigger pull SUCKS!!!!!!!!"
