Apparently in some cultures - namely the NC Senate - if you have a really bad idea then you try it twice... at the same time. At least that seems to be Sen. Malcolm Graham's thinking in introducing SB 987, SB 664's nearly identical twin. The second edition of the Rapist Protection Act is pretty much the same as SB 664 with the exception that it also would require signs in gun stores to threaten potential gun buyers about this measure.Call or write your State representatives and ask them to vote against this bill.
Like SB 664, SB 987, the Rapist Protection Act Volume II, is the reincarnation of the Rapist Protection Act which anti-gunners attempted to enact back in 2001. The bill at that time came from the House in the guise of HB 320. Research has shown that mandatory storage laws lead to increases in rapes, murders and aggravated assaults. This is due to an increased sense of safety "on the job" experienced by the criminal
element. Who do you wish to feel safer in your home, you or uninvited violent criminals?
