Close to Home...Shenanigans

Sheriff Unilaterally Closing NC Gun Range Undermined Gun Safety
WAKE COUNTY DENIES THE PUBLIC USE OF PUBLIC RANGE
The new sheriff of Wake County has already built a reputation not really caring what anyone else thinks even if they control his purse strings.
Memos blast new Wake County sheriff's handling of budget, personnel
The next Wake County Commissioners' meeting is Monday, January 6th at 5:00 PM in the Wake County Justice Center, 301 S. McDowell St., Raleigh, Room 2700. If you are a gun owner and live in Wake County you might want to be there and make yourself heard on a lot of issues.

We have the same problem in North Carolina

Internal Sheriffs Association email shows that money drives pistol permit law
The North Carolina Sheriff's Association opposed any repeal of the Jim Crow Pistol Purchase Permit I believe in part because they'll lose the fees. They other part for some Sheriff's is they'll lose the ability to say no to applicants they don't like. The last attempt to kill it died because of opposition by the NCSA. This problem isn't Alabama's alone.

It is amazing to me that politics as usual in North Carolina...

...are only undemocratic and unconstitutional when the Republicans do it. Pot and kettle.

Oh, this is gonna be fun.

Etheridge to run for governor
That's Bob Etheridge. Here he is at his best.

H/T to Sean.

Bought and Paid For?

The Mayor of the city in which I live, William Bell, received a $4000 campaign donation from none other than Mayor Mikey Bloomberg of NYC. For those of you who don't know Bloomberg founded Mayors Against Legal Illegal Guns. Bell is a member of that group.  Four thousand dollars is almost a third of the donations made to Bell's reelection campaign. I also don't believe a person like Bloomberg gives away something for nothing. So what the residents of Durham North Carolina need to ask themselves is whose interests are Bill Bell looking after: theirs of Mikey Bloomberg's?

H/T to Bitter.
