Quote of the Day
In a mature society, civil servant is semantically equal to civil master. - Robert A. Heinlein...and here's Bore Patch's riff on the topic.
In a free society when public/civil servants do not see themselves accoutable to those who they serve we're headed toward one enormous FAIL.

Seventeen years later...
1993 - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents raid the Branch Davidian church in Waco, Texas with a warrant to arrest the group’s leader David Koresh. Four BATF agents and five Davidians die in the initial raid, starting a 51-day standoff. It ends with the deaths of sevety-six Davidians including seventeen children.

And all I can imagine is a knee jerk reaction that ignores all reason and is guaranteed to screw us all. What else is government for?
