Mutineer and The Little Ships by J. A. Sutherland

These are two and three in the series. In the first New London is now at war with another Star Nation and Carew has been placed on a ship whose Captain is intent on driving her from the service even if he has to kill her to do it. The next finds her caught up in the shenanigans of the Foreign Office and their attempts to cause turmoil within the borders of their enemy. All of these books have a Horatio Hornblower feel to them with strong David Weber and David Drake influences. All them are damn good reads with strong plots and excellent characterizations. I've been reading them up back to back. I can't recommend them enough.
