this fifth in their Boundary series and a direct sequel to their Castaway Planet. Here another group of crewmen/colonists work to survive the accident that set them adrift in space. Good story, characterizations, and solid science fiction of the the old school. I enjoyed it as much as the first. I hope there will be a third.

I didn't realize they had continued that series, thanks.
Same universe. The Castaway books feel more like Heinlein juveniles to me but that's a high bar.
I have the first two, just ordered the next two.
I've been reading Freehold by Michael Z Williamson.
Just got done with the first one and am starting the 2nd.
The first one was pretty darn good. Sort of a Stirling/David Drake feel like the General series or maybe a little like the Prince of Sparta books by Pournelle with a very libertarian bent.
I've read everything available by Williamson with the exception of his collaboration with Ringo "The Hero". Started reading it, got bored, went to other things, and never came back. Keep planning to give it another try but there's always something else waiting. But yes, Williamson's has mad writing skills that only get better with each novel and he is easily on par with Stirling or Pournelle.
