…self-defense. Another robber shot by an armed citizen. I thought handgun ownership was illegal in Chicago. How’s this possible?

The Chicago Trib wants to know why these victim's aren't being procecuted asking if the law is worth having if its not enforced. Easy answer: It's not. There's also the slight problem that defending yourself with a firearm on your own property [residential or business] is an affirmative defense in Illinois. Prosecute and see what happens.
