Prior to 1989, the term ‘assault weapon’ did not exist in the lexicon of firearms. It is a political term, developed by anti-gun publicists to expand the category of ‘assault rifles’ so as to allow an attack on as many additional firearms as possible on the basis of undefined ‘evil’ appearance. - Justice Clarence Thomas

Hard Ball
Gov. Abbott Vetoes Funding For State Legislature, Including Lawmakers' Pay
Abbott said in a statement that “Texans don’t run from a legislative fight, and they don’t walk away from unfinished business.”Funding should not be provided for those who quit their job early, leaving their state with unfinished business and exposing taxpayers to higher costs for an additional legislative session.”Oh, that's cute. The Texas Governor excercises his Constiutional power of the veto over a bill he doesn't approve of, and to the Democrats it's an abuse of power. You go with that bucko and see just how far it gets tou. You don't like the veto? Override it, and good luck with that.“I therefore object to and disapprove of these appropriations,” the governor said.
Democrats are calling the move an “abuse of power”
“Texas has a governor, not a dictator,” House Democratic Caucus Chair Chris Turner said in a statement. “The tyrannical veto of the legislative branch is the latest indication that [Abbott] is simply out of control.”

Choose Wisely
I'd like to say "that's California", but if the Left has it's way, that's the rest of us as well. I can't afford six dollar a gallon gas. The mid-terms are coming. Choose wisely.RIP California pic.twitter.com/Ohnvirf0ZP

Not only is what she did not wrong, it's what you're supposed to do: turning on hazards to indicate you're complying and pulling over at the next safe place to do so...

BREAKING: FPC Wins “Assault Weapon” Lawsuit in Historic Victory for Second Amendment RightsRead the opinion here.
Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment. Good for both home and battle, the AR-15 is the kind of versatile gun that lies at the intersection of the kinds of firearms protected under District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008) and United States v Miller, 307 U.S. 174 (1939). Yet, the State of California makes it a crime to have an AR-15 type rifle. Therefore, this Court declares the California statutes to be unconstitutional.
