New York Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel said Friday he won't step down as chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee despite being admonished for violating rules by letting corporations pay for his Caribbean trips.
Despite testimony by his staff that he was advised, Rangel claims he was not and other than the testimony there is no evidence to prove they told him. So, says Rangel, he exonerated. And this is about what I expected. The most ethical Congress ever my butt.
