...Quarry in the Middle by Max Allan Collins.

Update: You know what you’re going to get when you red a Quarry novel. The plot is generally Quarry's on a job, he gets laid, and then completes the job. That’s not necessarily bad because with most novels these days there is very little surprise and it’s what fills in the middle or how you get to the end not how it ends. Max Allan Collins gets us to the end with the skill and style I grown used to in his novels. I liked Quarry in the Middle. I’m looking forward to his next, Quarry’s Ex.
