Fort Hood

What happened at Fort Hood didn't have to happen. By all accounts the indicators were there that Major Nidal Malik Hasan was primed for his own personal jihad, and no one did a damn thing to stop him before he could carry it out. Then there's the governement's policy that prohibits soldiers from having the means to defend themselves on base. Hasan committed an act of terror and murder but he was enabled by the failures of others who could and should have done better.
