The Final Day by William Forstchen

Third maybe last in Forstchen's John Masterson series. This one wraps the series quite well. The people of a small town in Western north Carolina first battled against nature and bandits after an EMP destroys the technological society we live in. In the second they face off against a bureaucracy trying to reassert control. This addition to the series continues that tale. If you like the first two you'll be pleased with this one. Highly recommended.

I never buy a Forstchen book in a series until the series is done.
He's burned me a couple times hard and one time a little less.

He, and Newt, promised a sequel to 1945 and never delivered.
He restarted his very excellent Lost Regiment series with "Down to the Sea" and then didn't continue it and his Crystal Warriors series ended on what looked like the villain for the third book.

I can see that. This trilogy is worth the wait. Even if another books comes out the first three wrap up their story. I loved the Lost Regiment. Probably need to go back and reread it. I think I read the Crystal Warriors books but its been a long time ago.
