So, who's pushing the meme? I'd bet either the White House or Bloomberg. Anyway, with an intense minority of only five million NRA members and God only knows how many fellow travelers, my money is still on the NRA.

So the NRA is in decline?
At least five papers have run essentially the same story. That don't make it true.

We'll have to see where the membership numbers go, but when I joined in February 1992 (coincidence?), as I remember they were trying to get to four million members. Now they have five million? If that's a decline, Sugerman and HCI or whatever alias they are using now should hope for such a decline.
