Justice Stevens is retiring...

...and now Obama has his second appointment to the Supreme Court. I would be nice if the GOP could drag the process out until the mid-terms but that ain’t gonna happen. The Dems have their majority so Obama will most likely get his choice. Without the filibuster proof Senate he may not get his first choice but Stevens will be replaced by another liberal. Since that replaces a liberal with a liberal it doesn’t matter for the moment but it may in the future at which point we’re fucked. I pray often that Justices Scalia, Roberts, Alito, Thomas, and Kennedy remain healthy and hold off on retirement until a President is in office who respects the Constitution as the contract it is.
