I read and enjoyed Schulman's Alongside Night and Rainbow Cadenza. Then nothing. He produced some non-fiction, but no novels until this in 2001. It was self-published and I didn't have the money to buy it. At the time I had to rely on the local library for my reading material and despite requests the librarian wasn't inclined to purchase it. I noticed the other day it was available for Kindle and snapped it up. The basic plot is a DJ is assigned a mission from God. It was nice to have another novel by Schulman. I liked it and recommend it. I'd really like to see more, but it seems he's shifted his creative impulse to film lately, and that's a shame.
