Why is there any debate going on about this scumbag going to jail.

Roman Polanski at the age of 44 got a 13 year old girl drunk and doped up then had oral and anal sex with her. He was tried and admitted his guilt. When it looked as if he was actually going to have to pay for his crime he fled to France where he has avoided the consequences of his actions ever since. Now he is in Switzerland awaiting extradition for that crime and some celebrities in Hollywood are pissed. I have three daughters. Fuck Roman Polanski and those Hollywood fucktards. He raped a 13 year old! It doesn't matter what "wonderful" movies he's made. He a vile piece of trash. Bring him back to the U. S. and sentence him. If there is any justice he'll get to spend what life he has left discussing his sexual mores with Bubba as his top in a six by six cell.

Here's a good piece on Polanski from Salon by Kate Harding.

You're giving $400,000 to who?!

President Obama has donated $400,000 of our tax money to a charity run by the Gadhafi Family. The purpose of the charity is to project a new and positive image of Libya. There is sooo much wrong here. With the current state of our nation's finances why are we giving money to the Gadhafis. They control the oil revenues for Libya for Christ's sake. They got money to spare let 'em spend their own. Then there are the isues of their ties to terrorists. Wait, he's reformed. Sorry don't buy it. That little bit where they fignagles the release of Pan Am Flight 103 bomber Abdel Baset Megrahi kinda of makes me doubt his new leaf. So this is the new and positive image the Gadhafi charitites are trying to project?

For those of you interested in wading through 1,118 pages of HR3200, the Health Care Reform bill, here it is. A true no chase policy

The Mayor of Wellford SC has prohibited the police from not only vehicle pursuits but also foot pursuits. Apparently the workman's compensation costs are too high. I think the video tends to speak for itself. It is proof we get the leadership the voters deserve.

I'd sign on to this in a heartbeat...

but chances and snowballs in hell ya know.

If Steven Den Beste could amend the Constitution he'd make these changes.
1. An Interstate Commercial Transaction as referred to in Article I, Section 8, only exists when the buyer and seller are residents of different states, and the buyer gives money to the seller in exchange for products and/or services which are delivered from one state to another. Congress has no power to regulate commercial transactions which take place within a state between residents of that state, and the Commerce Clause of Article I, Section 8, shall not be construed to grant Congress power to regulate anything which is not commerce.

2. Because it is important for America citizens who are not members of the Armed Forces to be able to protect themselves, their families, their property, their fellow citizens, and the nation as a whole, the right of private citizens over 18 years of age who are not convicted felons to purchase, possess, and carry firearms and ammunition shall not be infringed by federal, state, or local law.

3. Hanging as a form of capital punishment is permitted under the Constitution of the United States, provisions of Amendment Eight notwithstanding.

4. No court in the United States shall be guided by precedents established by courts in other nations or by international tribunals. The United States Constitution and the laws and treaties created under its authority shall be the sole source for all legal decisions within the sovereign territory of the United States.

5. No person shall serve more than 8 years as a US Representative or 12 years as a US Senator.

6. No provision of any treaty shall be enforceable within the United States if it infringes the rights of citizens as recognized by this Constitution.

7. Neither Congress nor any state or local government shall make any law infringing the right of the people to produce and release carbon dioxide. No taxes or fees may be charged for such release.

8. In lawsuits where lawyers work on contingency, the lawyers collectively may not receive a greater percentage of the award than any single one of the clients they represent.

9. It is double jeopardy for a defendant to be criminally tried in both State and Federal court for the same event, even if the indictments read differently. In cases in which both State and Federal prosecutors wish to prosecute, the State shall have priority.

10. Neither the federal government nor any state or locality may pass any law or implement any policy which discriminates against or in favor of any person on the basis of race, gender, or national origin.
Works for me.

Some Mayors that belong to the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns [MAIG] are claiming that it is not a gun control group because they're only against illegal guns. The fact is they're in lockstep with the Brady Campaign on every issue. Health insurance ain't auto insurance

President Obama insists on comparing health insurance and auto insurance.
What it's saying is ... that we're not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you any more than the fact that right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance," he said. "Nobody considers that a tax increase. People say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that, if you hit my car, that I'm not covering all the costs.
The fact that he's intentionally ignoring is I only have to purchase auto insurance if I own a car. The comparison fails because of that unfortunate fact. Sorry, now stop it.

A worthy cause

I am a Spider Robinson fan. I can't think of any of his novels that I didn't like. In part the affection may be he looks on Robert Heinlein as the patron saint of science fiction and that's kinda hard to argue against. On the other hand, politically, I'd wager we share little to nothing in common. I still like his books. I understand his wife, and co-author of the Stardance stories, is suffering from cancer and they need help. John Varley, another author I for which I have a fondness, others have placed assorted goods on auction with eBay with the proceeds intended for the Robinsons. Go take a look and help if ya can and want.

Guns on trains

The Senate passed an amendment to the transportation and housing appropriations bill that would allow passengers on AMTRAK to transport firearms in their checked luggage. The House passed the same bill in July without the amendment so whether its going to come about is still open. In any event AMTRAK opposes the provision. The Airlines manage. Why can't the railroads? I rode a train from New Jersey to Durham several years ago. It was the most miserable travel experience I've ever had. This reluctance on the part of AMTRAK is just one more reason not to travel by rail.

Hey this is funny.

Its even funnier in the proper context.

Here we go again.

I was at work last night when I got an emergency call from my wife that they had no water. the facets were dry. I returned home and checked under the house. No burst pipes. The pressure gauge showed about 10 pounds of the tank. There was power and at that point there was not a damn thing else I could do. Today, a friend of the family, who happens to be a plumber, showed up to help. We had power at the well head and figured a burned out pump. So we pulled the pump and found hose. Wiring in the well was abraded and corroded. Turned out to be an easy, relatively, fix at less than twenty dollars in parts. The cost of a replacement pump would have been $328. We still don't know what the labor costs will be. Hey he's a friend but he don't work for free. Now on to the next crisis.

ACORN takes a another hit

The Senate voted 93-7 for an amendment to the HUD and Transportation appropriation bill that would strip ACORN of all federal funding. sounds like a start to me but for it to do any good an amendment to the House version has to be passed, it has to get past a conference committee, and Obama would have to sign it. The seven Senators who were "sympathetic to child-whoring pimp assistance" were Dick Durbin (D-IL),
Roland Burris (D-IL), Robert Casey (D-PA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI). The names on the list surprise me not at all.

I couldn't listen to much of Obama's speech. What I did hear was the same old shit he's been spouting all along. He hasn't paid one bit of attention to what his opponents have had to say on the issue. He's right. We're wrong, and he doesn't give a fuck what we have to say. He truly believes if he tells the same lie enough people will believe it. He truly believes we're stupid. No, that's not quite right. He believes that more of us are stupid than not and the support of the stupid will carry him through to victory. The sad truth is he's probably right.

Sarah Palin speaks out...

...on Obamacare and makes some common sense suggestions that might address some of the problems with our current system of health care.
Instead of poll-driven "solutions," let's talk about real health-care reform: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven. As the Cato Institute's Michael Cannon and others have argued, such policies include giving all individuals the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; providing Medicare recipients with vouchers that allow them to purchase their own coverage; reforming tort laws to potentially save billions each year in wasteful spending; and changing costly state regulations to allow people to buy insurance across state lines. Rather than another top-down government plan, let's give Americans control over their own health care.

Denninger: An Address to Our Nation's Schoolchildren

Read this and pass it on.
By Karl Denninger

My Fellow Americans.

Today you heard from our President, Barack Obama. Some of your parents voted for him, and most of the rest of the country voted for his opponent, John McCain.

What you heard from President Obama today was a plea for you to pay attention in school and finish your education.

What you did not hear from President Obama today was that your government, together with your school, has refused to provide you with the knowledge necessary for you to understand what has happened to this nation and its economy over the last 30 years.

This is not an accident.

In math class you are taught "the power function", which you think of as squares, cubes, and similar. It is written as 4^2, or, expanded, as 4 x 4.

But what you're not taught is how this applies to finance, even though every household and every American has their own financial challenges, and every person in America should understand how finance works.

Neither Republican or Democrat wants you to see this graph. This is how much each American, from 1970 to today, is in debt because of our government's policies:

2009's "fiscal year" (that is, the year for accounting purposes) doesn't close until the end of this month. But as of today, this graph is correct (and will only get worse in the next three weeks.)

Let me be clear:

In the last two years your mother, father, school teacher, grandma and grandpa have stuck each and every American with $10,000 in personal debt, and since 2000 the amount of debt you have had forced upon you has doubled.

This debt was forced upon you not because of the need to defend this country from a foreign invader such as occurred on December 7th 1941 or because of the War on Terrorism, but rather because a bunch of greedy men and women on Wall Street and Washington DC, both Democrat and Republican, lied, cheated and stole money from ordinary Americans for more than a decade.

You have undoubtedly been taught that stealing is wrong, and indeed, that if you steal you can go to jail. But you need to understand that the law applies only to "little people" like you. If you work on Wall Street, own a fancy suit and private airplane, and steal millions and millions of dollars from people worldwide, instead of going to jail you will be rewarded with a huge bonus and be able to buy a really big boat, while the cost of your stealing will be forced on the children - and unborn - throughout America.

That's you, by the way.

You need to understand that this is not a "Democrat" or "Republican" thing. Indeed, both Democrats and Republicans in Washington DC know about this and both are equally responsible for letting it happen. Both Democrats and Republicans voted for a law called "TARP" and allowed The Federal Reserve to take actions over the last two years that were responsible for you having to pay that extra $10,000. They voted for this law even though ordinary Americans just like you told them not to vote for it - in fact, for every person who called their offices or sent an email to tell them to vote "yes", 100 people called, faxed or emailed and told them to vote "no".

They voted "Yes" anyway and as a result you must pay that $10,000 in the future, whether you want to or not, so that those who robbed, cheated and stole can have their yacht and your parents can lose their house to foreclosure.

President Bush signed that law and President Obama refused to step in and stop it when he became President. President Bush is a Republican and President Obama is a Democrat. Do not be deceived - both major political parties are equally responsible for this outrage - and for forcing you to pay.

The worst part of the graph above is that this is not all of the debt you must pay. In fact your "share" of the debt is five times what's shown on that graph.

That's right my fellow Americans - you are in debt for more than $200,000 - each and every one of you, including every school child in America.

Why?

Because our government is lying about how much everyone owes. See, our government has promised everyone free medical care and free retirement money. But our government doesn't have the money to pay for that, since every penny that the government has must come from either borrowing or taxing, and the government isn't forced to follow the law when it comes to honest accounting - that is, honest math.

When you cheat on your math test in school you get an "F".

But when the government cheats on its math they get re-elected, because our schools refuse to teach students just like you how math applies to finance, and as a result 95% of Americans don't understand that they're being screwed to the tune of $200,000 each.

That's because the schools are run by the government, and for that reason the government controls what you learn - and what you don't.

Our debt is supposedly $11 trillion dollars. But the money the government must have in the future to pay for those free benefits, Social Security and Medicare, doesn't exist. The former Comptroller of the Currency of America (that's a fancy word for the chief guy who keeps track of the books), David Walker, has said that the real debt is more than $53 trillion dollars, or almost five times what you see in the graph above.

Why was this allowed to happen?

It really is quite simple:

They're big, and you're small. They're right, and you're wrong.

Just because they said so.

While you were out playing in the back yards and playgrounds of America both Democrats and Republicans were making promises they could not keep. Instead of raising taxes right now for whatever they wanted to promise they instead decided to send you the bill, and your parents went along with it.

So when you come home from school this afternoon say "Thanks" to your Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma for selling you into slavery.

For obligating you to pay for the stealing that has gone on for nearly ten years on Wall Street and in Washington DC.

For allowing those very same lies to cost your family (or that of someone you know and love) their house, their job, and their future.

And finally, make sure you thank your Teachers and Principal for not teaching you the math you need to be able to understand what is really going on with your government, so you don't get mad enough to put a stop to it - or demand that your parents do so.

After all, they're right and you're wrong.

They're big and you're small.

They, including your school teachers, principals and school boards, won't teach you about how math applies to all of this, because if they did, they couldn't lie to you any more and you might revolt (quite literally) - either now or later.

So sit back and enjoy your childhood; your time to become a slave, when you leave school and start having to pay that $200,000 by having it taken from you in the form of taxes will be here soon enough.

Wall Street and the politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, thank you for quietly accepting your role as a slave to pay for their yachts, along with the lies, cheating and stealing that have been going on literally every day for more than ten years.

Now sit down at your desk, shut up and behave while your teachers show you only what the government wants you to know.

Wall Street and Washington DC are relying on you, our nation's youth, refusing to demand the truth.

They're sure you won't disappoint them.

Maybe its me but I thought the whole point of Scouting was to teach Scouts to be responsible adults. To do that you have to give them opportunities to be responsible. Among those opportunities being, teaching them to properly handle a knife as a tool. The Brits have apparently decided that's too big a risk. Hell, they might become members of the "knife culture". President Obama wants to...

...talk to our children. I have some problems with this but its not with the speech. From what I've heard its basically a work hard and set goals for your future yak, and it won't hurt most of them to hear it. He ain't the first Prez to do it and, hell I home school my young ones. That means I get to indoctrinate my kids and I doing a damn fine job if I do say so myself.

Anyway...my problems with this "learning experience" is that Obama is making this speech to a captive audience, and that audience remains captive afterwards when the teachers start presenting the lesson plan provided by the White House. That, no matter what content is in the lesson plans, is out of line and, considering Obama's MO through the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, indoctrination.

Mr. Prez, leave our kids alone. We'll indoctrinate them ourselves with the ism of our choice.

The Government Can

MS: Shotgun trumps handgun.

In Jackson, Mississppi a burglar was in the process of breaking into a business when an employee interupted his endeavor with a shotgun blast. The burglar was armed with a handgun and knife. The burglar did not survive the encounter. The police have said the shooting appears justified. Works for me.
