Ambrose said the Clifton officer was on duty when he was apparently attacked by a dog in Bloomfield. The officer drew his service weapon, which somehow fired accidentally. The translation is, when a dog barked at this officer he drew his handgun, placed his finger on the trigger, and pulled the trigger before he brought it to bear on said dog. Mr. Journalist, I'm positive the "somehow" involved a finger on a trigger. It wasn't an accident. It was pure and simple negligence on the officer's part.
