HB 789: The "let's put Mikey in jail" bill.
Ya know how Mayor Mikey Bloomberg sends his minions to gun shows outside of New York where they lie about who they are to purchase guns while videotaping the transactions? If HB 789 passes trying to pull crap like that in North Carolina will end them up in jail. John Richardson has the details here. This is a bill you definitely need to call and ask your representatives to support. The thought just warms you even though with Mikey's money he'd never to a day in the hoosegow. Sometimes it's the thought that counts.

NC: HB 650
HB 650 amends several gun laws in North Carolina in what amounts to a bit of house cleaning. Most of the amendments don't go far enough, but fall under good enough for now. Reading the actual bill gives me a frickin' headache. Fortunately, Sean, over at An NC Gun Blog, has done the hard work for me and provides the gist of each amendment for our edification. HB 650 is worth supporting so give your representatives a call.

NC: State of Emergency
I see on the news that Governor Perdue has declared a state of emergency in North Carolina because of the snow. Which means you can't carry a firearm off your property without fear of arrest. This one of the many firearms related laws that need changing with the new legislature come January. Here's a wish list at An NC Gun Blog. I can't argue with a one of them.

You've got to wonder...
...how many times our representatives in Congress have pulled this gig before, then again shouldn't those same congresscritters have noticed their vote was tallied wrong and called Rangel on it? Curious isn't it?
