Lynn man's "Star Wars" stormtrooper costume triggers school lockdown...because he was dresses as a fictional character carrying a fictional weapon. So tell me why is he responsible for the overreaction of the school principal or the police?Cross was arrested on charges of disturbing a school and loitering within 1,000 feet of a school.

If the principal signed a complaint, the police have to make the arrest. It will be interesting to see what happens when this goes to court.
...or the police could have made an on view arrest. They could have also discouraged the principal from pursuing the matter. Somehow I doubt they or their supervisors had any desire to use common sense in this matter or call the principal's lack of it to her attention.
