Men dressed in black posing as ATF Agents broke into a house in Alabama, shot and killed a resident, then held the rest at gun point while they stole money and electronics.
So what do you do if black clad thugs kick in your door claiming to be Federal Agents or local police? If you shoot them and they're bad guys you're a hero. If you shoot them and they're cops you're screwed. If you take no action you may be screwed. Hell of a dilemma. A solution may be for the cops to stop wearing tactical/military wear that anyone with a credit card can buy and go back to being the police.

Col Cooper said back in the Klintonista days that one presumes a certain level of "normality" when being served with a search or arrest warrant.
That is, one expects to see at least one officer in the recognizable uniform of the local law enforcement authority and perhaps a recognizable squad car from that agency parked out front and expects to be given a reasonable amount of time to answer the door.
Minus that and until all are properly identified, a group of people dressed in black with their faces covered who are kicking in your door or are charging at you while in public while screaming and yelling incomprehensibly are to be treated as unwelcome and hostile aggressors.
A wise man, The Colonel.
Still hoping for a peaceful resolution to it all...
