If it is just a routine investigation of the circumstances, it is one thing. However, Prosecutors hate self defense ( or defense of others) cases. If the man with the knife is from a favored minority, the Prosecutor might easily become the Persecutor, since, "They are all like that." "They all swing knives for emphasis, tain't nuffin". I guess we will get to see if "reasonable" actions are now illegal. Actually, an automobile seems like a pretty good defensive weapon.
