This is screwed up.

A senior in high school forgot he had left his shotgun locked in the trunk of his car after shooting sheet the day before. When he called his mom to get help, staff overheard the conversation. He was arrested and expelled.

He violated the law, but it wasn't intentional or, I'd argue, knowingly and willfully" done. He did a kid thing. He forgot. Hopefully the prosecutors will exercise the judgement of which the school administrators and police weren't capable. Just saying...
