In January, a Canadian was charged with pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and two counts of careless storage of a firearm after he fired warning shots at thugs throwing Molotov cocktails at his house. Now local prosecutors have dropped all but the storage charges. Apparently, they doubted a jury would convict. Common Sense and self-defense may still be possibilities in Canada.

Do you think that the Wake County Sheriff's office would recommend prosecution if this happened here? or would he sentence you to remedial pistol shooting class for missing? (deliberately in this case)
There isn't an agency in NC that would have prosecuted that case against the victim. God help him if he had actually shot them in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAlso, on the storage charge, what should have done after such an attack. Of course he had his guns handy.
