Tyranny of the Majority

I guess I’m naive but I thought our Constitution was supposed to protect us from the tyranny of the majority. That would require that those elected to public office and given the responsibility to protect our Republic from enemies foreign and domestic to give a damn and honor their oath. I'll hold my breath.
