Arrant Stupidity

“Ciara and I let our little children use the words not fair,” she warned, with an air of gravity. “Until they’re six or seven, or stop believing in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, whichever comes first. Anyone purportedly grown-up who says those dread words will be shot without warning for the capital crime of arrant stupidity.” Daggers in the Dark, S. M. Stirling

fantiSci 2021

That's how I spent most of my weekend. fantiSci is a small science fiction convention held in Durham, NC. I'd say it was dominated by Baen and Chris Kennedy Publishing. It was my first non comic book related convention, so there was a bit o culture shock and learning curve, but once I adjusted, I had fun. I got to meet authors Larry Corriea, David Weber, D. J. Butler, Mel Todd, Larry Hoy and an abundance of other nice people. Fun was had by all including me. I'm planning to do it again next year.

I was looking through some old Word files and found this...

If we become a people who are willing to give up our money and our freedom in exchange for rhetoric and promises, then nothing can save us. --Thomas Sowell

It was Bound to Happen.

Apparently, I've been reported as a deceptive site. Someone or some software didn't like my last post about the President. Blogger keeps deleting it. Apparently, telling the President "no" is not allowed.

Update: Appears to at least partially a Firefox problem. No issues using Chrome.

UPDATE: No, it's Google.

UPDATE: ...and it's clear.

UPDATE: ...and I finally got an email from Blogger. Some asshat reported me for phishing or Malware for a post that had a image of Biden's Twitter post telling us to vaccinate or wear a mask. My post was titled "no" with text following the image saying "Not Your Chice Mr. Biden. The image was borrowed from Instapundit. No phishing. No malware. Just bullshit.

Blogger has allowed me to repost the offending post. See previous post.

No.

Not Your Choice, Mr. Biden. Ours.

Defund the Police,...

...Reduce Police numbers through hiring or policies than encourage officers to retire, tie their hands through policy and law and make it impossible for them to do their jobs, and this happens.
Cost of left’s anti-anti-crime folly: 4-year-old shot in Times Square
Coming soon to a city or town near you, IF it's not already the case. Cough, cough, Portland. Buy a gun. Stock up on ammo. Yeah, I know. you almost have to mortgage your home to afford ammo these days, but it is an investment in your future safety. Lord knows if the police will be there to help you.

A Win for the Good Guys

Glock wins (and Biden loses) in major liability suit
The decision came out in March but this is the first I'd hard of it.

Good News

Young Americans are Turning Down Gun Control
It's a poll, so the how of it determines if it is worth a damn. The story doesn't provide those details. Still, I'll hope for the best.
Kansas Legislature Overrides Veto to Pass Gun-Carry Bill
A Democrat Governnor is told to pound sand and eighteen to twenty year olds can now get concealed carry permits.

That's A Lot of Frickin' Guns

Gun Sales Hit Record 16 Million. Here’s Every State Ranked.
The story posits several theories as to why sales are so high: civil unrest, the pandemic, violence. I think it's Democrats and people know damn well they can't trust them with their safety. Also, when the gun grabbers are in charge people want to get a gun before it's impossible to do so.
