‘More paint and less hate’: Online petition calls for end to ‘black targets’ at shooting ranges

SEALS killing terrorists. Well done. I liked it. Truth to tell a lot of this kind of stuff is on the market now. Some good and some not so good. This was one of the better ones. I like Dixon's writing and I'll read the rest of the series in time. No hurry though.

Men of the West, mostly based on Why You Should Read Classic Literature.
Are the stories amazing? Yes, they are. Do they teach you things about yourself? Do they illustrate great truths of human nature? Do they stir the soul to great deeds? Of course they do. But in this sad, debauched age, where men’s spirits hang low, and honor is thin, you must read the classic works for another reason. It’s mundane, and boring, but critical. You must know whether you are being lied to.
There's lots more to it and I'm only just dipping in.

Called by Robert J. Crane

It's takes place in one of these worlds where the supernatural and mundane exist side by side with the mundane mostly ignorant of the supernatural. It falls smack dab in the middle of the fantasy genre that Corriea and Butcher do so well. It is the first n a series. Small town overrun by demons and a mysterious stranger arrives to clean 'em out. The story is OK, but nothing new here. The characters are much the same. The presentation is above average. So, I liked it. I'll definitely pick up the sequel, but I got other things to read so it may be awhile.

The Senate Says No To Obama's Last Minute Gun Grab

Senators voted 57-43 to strike down a regulation that requires the Social Security Administration to report people who receive disability benefits and have a mental health condition to the FBI's background check system.
What it allowed was to have the Second Amendment rights of certain recipients of Social Security stripped without due process. Next it goes to President Trump's desk, where he is expected to sign it. More please.

The Black Wolves of Boston by Wen Spencer

There may be some short fiction I've missed, but I've read every published novel. Every one of them is top notch and this is no different. Spencer has built a world where magic and the normal coexist and, of course, the battle of good vs. evil rages. The story is fine but the joy is in getting to know the characters. I want more please.

On Tom Brady, Rudyard Kipling, and If

The Social Justice weenies want to dictate what of our history we can celebrate and what we must condemn. Case in point. Tom Brady shares Kipling's If on Instagram and the SJWs go ape shit because the poem by is by the "racist" Kipling. It's not because it's Kipling. Brady is a friend of President Trump and so everything he does is bad and open to attack. Also I'm not going to drop the works of Kipling into the trash because you SJW trash have determined he is badthink because of a poem he wrote before the turn of the last century. He's a wonderful writer that I enjoy so fuck off. Last to you twits who feel the need to jump on the bandwagon because he didn't cite Kipling as the author. It' Instagram. Nobody cares except you nitpicking assholes. I recognize the poem as Kipling. Ya'll did, or somebody with a minimum amount of education did and told you so you could bitch and nobody without an agenda believes for a moment Brady is trying to pass it on as his own work. You're bitching 'cuz it's Brady and Trump so grow up or STFU. Rant over!

Now, without further ado, If by Rudyard Kipling, and if you don't like it. Don't read it.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings -- nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run --
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

Obviously not a cat person...

...or he would have been used to it.
Deputies said the man shot the cat with a BB gun, which paralyzed the animal. It later had to be euthanized.

According to a police report, the 69-year-old man told deputies he shot the cat because it “looked at him like he owned the place” before relieving itself on his property.

A loophole is anything a Liberal doesn't like

Being able to buy gun parts online is now a loophole. Never mind you have to route the sale of the part the FED considers the gun, the part with the serial number on it you attach the other parts to, through an FFL so you undergo a background check. So, a Liberal considers this a loophole because you can buy parts online, AND they get some clueless agent at the ATF who doesn't understand Hillary lost the election to rubber stamp the lie. I think this is what they call fake news.

Then There Were Twelve

Constitutional Carry Passes In New Hampshire
their Governor has to sign it but he is on record saying he will.

I'll not hold my breath on that one.

Constitutional carry bill proposed in North Carolina
It's not even a veto by Democrat Governor Roy Cooper that would kill it. the Republican have a super majority in the Legislature. They can pass anything they have a will to. The question is do they have the will to go up against the North Carolina Sheriff's Association? The Association has been the major hurdle in repealing North Carolina's purchase permit. I doubt they will support Constitutional Carry. Doesn't mean it isn't a fight worth fighting. Just means it is all uphill 'cuz the North Carolina Legislature is firmly in their pocket.

We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor

Bob dies, is cryogenically frozen, then wakes up 100 years later inhabiting an AI. He is placed aboard a Von Neumann probe and sent out into the great beyond to explore and reproduce, and that he does. There is a humorous tone to the story that appeals to me and that's what carries me through. Don't get me wrong. The story and writing are fine, but that's true of a lot of books. It's the humor that carries the day. It does end abruptly but there are two more on the way and I'm looking forward to them.

If you have to play with the numbers to make your case...

...you don't have much of a case.
Dr. John Bates, the former principal scientist at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C., told the Daily Mail NOAA’s 2015 study was meant “to discredit the notion of a global warming hiatus and rush to time the publication of the paper to influence national and international deliberations on climate policy.”

Bates said NOAA scientists made a “blatant attempt to intensify the impact” of global warming to eliminate the “pause” in temperature rise since 1998. The Daily Mail claims Bates showed it “irrefutable” evidence NOAA’s study relied on “unverified” data.

Bates’ objections to the paper were ignored by his superiors, who let scientists make “decisions and scientific choices that maximised warming and minimised documentation” in advance of a major United Nations climate summit in Paris, France.

That's called fraud.

The Final Day by William Forstchen

Third maybe last in Forstchen's John Masterson series. This one wraps the series quite well. The people of a small town in Western north Carolina first battled against nature and bandits after an EMP destroys the technological society we live in. In the second they face off against a bureaucracy trying to reassert control. This addition to the series continues that tale. If you like the first two you'll be pleased with this one. Highly recommended.

NRA Applauds House Vote to Respect Due Process for Gun Owners

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today applauded the passage of H.J. Res. 40, a joint resolution to revoke a final rule made by the Obama administration that would strip law-abiding Americans of their Second Amendment rights
The Obama Administration claims they're mentally ill because they don't handle their own affairs, but their rights are arbitrarily stripped with no due process. Usual gun grabbing bullshit. It's nice to see the Republicans dancing with the ones who brung 'em. We will see it it continues.
