In the year of concealed carry permits in Illinois, there have only been a couple incidents involving legal gun owners that have created headlines. In July, a concealed-carry permit holder in Crestwood tried shooting at a fleeing armed robber, hurting no one but forcing a police officer to duck for cover. In Chicago a member of the military who had a concealed carry permit shot and wounded an armed man who fired into a crowd on Chicago's Far South Side. They always warn of blood in the streets because of increased gun ownership or concealed carry. Strange how it never comes to pass.
Nevertheless, Hayes said he stopped opposing the concealed carry law when he realized that the past year has not resulted in the level of violence some anticipated.
In his opinion, the past year is a good indicator that the current law works well in Illinois: "I'm confident in this system; that's not to say occasionally someone who shouldn't have a gun won't have a gun."
That was a group called Moms Demand Action. They were opposed to the fact that our policy is to adhere to the local gun laws. If the local gun laws are to allow open carry, we’ll certainly allow customers to do that based on what the local laws are. We don’t believe it’s up to us to legislate what the local gun control laws should be. It’s up to the local legislators to decide to do that. So we follow local laws [and] we ask our customers to be respectful to the other people they are shopping with. And we really haven’t had any issues inside of our stores as a result of that. - Kroger CFO Michael SchlotmanAlso giving them your custom rewards a friend and thumbs your nose at an enemy. Michael Mann and Stefan Rahmstorf claim the Gulf Stream is slowing due to Greenland ice melt, except reality says otherwise
Of course, Rahmstorf and Mann don’t list Rossby’s study in their references, nor seem to use the “highly accurate” ADCP data. Instead they use a model along with [proxies, reconstructions, and] the highly interpolated GISS data to come to the conclusions they want. So, it isn’t surprising they are chasing phantoms in their study.

This easily researched history reveals Brandon's key role in keeping the truth of Fast and Furious hidden from Congress and the public. Had heads rolled, angry ex-employees might have turned whistle-blower and implicated higher-ups at DOJ and even the White House. The game of mutual extortion; employee silence in exchange for job security, achieved its purpose.

FFLGuard has learned from unconfirmed sources that current ATF Director B. Todd Jones will be stepping down by the end of the month, and perhaps even sooner. Rumor is that Jones will be making a move from guns to sports, as a lawyer for the National Football League. The good news is that the “acting” personnel who will be elevating to higher positions, albeit temporarily, have historically been receptive to the concerns of FFLs.[Update] It is.

What Jones is telling the Congress is that he wants their help in banning rifle ammunition. Rifle ammunition. All of it. They will start with 5.56 mm ammunition, green tip, lead ball, pointed soft point – all of it. Then they will make it clear that all other rifle ammunition is as lethal as 5.56 mm ammunition, so they need a ban on that too. We're either in this together, or we're not. If we're not, well, they're coming for you hunters too, and it looks like they're coming for you first.
Here’s a warning flag to all the Elmer Fudds out there who only care about your bolt action hunting rifles, and think this stuff about AR-15s is all just a bunch of made up theater to bother pampered folk like you. They want your rifles and ammunition too. You do understand that, don’t you?

A recent Zogby Analytics survey asked, "If a national pollster asked you if you owned a firearm, would you determine to tell him or her the truth or would you feel it was none of their business?” Thirty-five percent of current gun owners said it was none of pollsters’ business. People who claim that they are not gun owners are slightly more likely to answer this way. That calls into question claims by prohibitionists that gun ownership is falling. Me? I don't answer phone polls.

Speedway Police Department Lt. Trent Theobald says the woman called 911 around 4:18 a.m. saying her ex-boyfriend was beating in her front door and she had a gun and feared for her life. She had two young children inside the apartment in the 5800 block of West 25th Street. That's not the fault of the police, but the reality is if you depend on the police for your safety in a volatile situation you may be fatally disappointed. The police exist to assign blame in the aftermath, and clean up the mess.
“She called 911 to let us know she heard the door being kicked in so obviously she was in fear of her life, especially knowing we’d had previous domestic runs at this apartment before, and she did have a gun in the apartment and fatally wounded her ex-boyfriend,” said Theobald.
The woman fired once and killed the man after he made his way into the front room of the apartment. He died at the scene.

The ATF said it would instead wait until Americans have finished commenting on the federal regulations and evaluate their comments and suggestions before "proceeding with any framework."You still can and should make public comment on the proposed ban. The deadline is March 16th.

Increased gun control measures would go a long way toward cutting down on America’s homicide rate, President Obama said during a town-hall event on Friday. And so another drive for "universal background checks" begins...with lies of course. The rebuttal is here.
“Our homicide rates are so much larger than other industrialized countries, by like a mile,” he said during a speech at Benedict College in South Carolina.
“Most of that is attributable to the easy, ready availability of firearms, particularly handguns.”
