Just doing my part.

Man ordered to take down police officer’s name and picture from Internet
There's one way to guarantee your face goes viral and he found it.

H/T to Uncle.

CNN doesn't want to cover the Yee story?

That's all right. The Taiwanese are picking up the slack.

Damn, I needed that.

H/T to Uncle.

One more example of why they call the GOP...

...the STUPID party.
Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy.
They want to remain the minority party. That's the only explanation for this bit of idiocy. He won't win and even if he did we don't need another Establishment Republican fence sitter in the White House. Conservatives are gonna avoid him just like they did McCain and Romney and the baggage he carries from his brother's terms will turn the Independents against him. Gawd, we are well and truly screwed.

I was thinking about...

...the authors that for one reason or another I stopped reading. I used to be a huge Tom Clancy fan. I'll admit I never read beyond the first couple of chapters of The Hunt for Red October. I tried, but it bored me. I picked up on him with his second novel until Rainbow Six. A discussion of Waco and Ruby Ridge by characters in that novel turned me off Clancy and I never recovered my interest. Jack Higgins was another I read religiously but he found his formula and in time it came to bore me. I couldn't tell you why I stopped reading Ken Follet, W. E. B. Griffin, or David Morrell. I just did. I stopped reading Stephen King some time after Firestarter. It was one of his attempts at traditional fantasy that did me in then. Now it is his mouth that turns me off. Leftist Libtard. Jonathan Kellerman was another where something in one of his novels just pissed me off which was a shame. He was always a very easy entertaining read. I recently picked up one of his novels and rediscovered just how much I like his writing. So I'll give him another chance...at least until he pisses me off again.

Community Service

Now THAT's funny.

Recently Read

Fortress Frontier - Myke Cole
Like a Mighty Army - David Weber
Liberty 1784 - Robert Conroy

I enjoyed them all. Weber and Conroy are know quantities. I will say that Conroy has found his formula and is sticking to it. As long as you like the formula, as I do, you'll like the book. Cole's is the middle book in a trilogy but doesn't suffer for it. I'm looking forward to the third.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Sen. Leland "Bullet Button Loophole" Yee Arrested On Corruption Charges
Among the charges are arms trafficking. Poetic ain't it.

So, this so called journalist...

...in the People's Republic of New Jersey has attacked 9-year old Shyanne Roberts who engages in many sports including competitive shooting. He calls her choice of sport...
"creepy," and essentially accusing her of being an unwitting pawn of the big, bad NRA, unable to think or reason for herself and manipulated by the nasty gun lobby.
Well, Mr. Kelly it doesn't suprise me you feel this way since you are a witting pawn of the prohibitionist, anti-gun Progressive Left unable to think or reason for yourself as a shill of said prohibitionist, anti-gun Progressive Left. All you can apparently do is spout the party line and if I had to choose which was creepier between enjoying competitive shooting and attacking a 9-year old it wouldn't be a hard choice...Creep.

This prohibitionist up in New Jersey has an idea.

I propose that people like me who deplore gun violence take our country back from the gun lovers. We can do that by using economic sanctions against states that allow the gun lobby to write the laws. How? By never moving to these states, by moving out of these states and by never vacationing in these states.
All I can say is 'please', and we'll return the favor.

H/T to Sebastian.

So it looks like The Postal Service...

...decided to ignore the left-wing hate and issue the Charlton Heston stamp. Good. They say its to commemorate his work in Hollywood. Whatever. I'm buying them because he supported Civil Rights including the Second Amendment.

Maybe I'm just slow today...

...but this makes no damn sense at all to me.
The gun was fired during the struggle, but police said no one was hit. One person received a powder burn from the impact of the shot and was treated at the scene.
Maybe a powder burn when the weapon was fired during the struggle?

Sunday afternoon at Grandma Bullock's place.

Probably late 40s. My dad is the guy sitting on the porch with his legs crossed with a hat on.

That's what should happen...

...but remember the Stupid Party. Ya know, where Establishment versus Tea Party and social conservatism versus fiscal conservatism is a more important fight than Republican versus Progressive/Democrat.

Gun control advocates lie.

While that's not really anything new, it does get old, and you'd think they pick new lies instead of spreading the same old ones. For instance...
Child’s gun death: Gun control advocates’ latest deception

What happens if he does?

Cuomo scared to call for special elections
We find out just how pissed off the citizens of those eleven districts are over the NYSAFE Act. We're gonna find out anyway come the mid-terms in November.

They'll be blood in the streets...

...and it will effect our funding. The blood in the streets or "more road rage" argument hasn't come true since Florida first passed shall-issue concealed carry in the 80s. Violent crime has been trending downward. So its nice to know where the Alabama Sheriff's Association's priorities lie. Funding.

My youngest daughter...

...had four teeth removed due to braces. The wife told me she looked like a chipmunk so of course I emailed her this picture.

Ben Carson for President?

Dr. Carson’s prescription for gun control
I'd need some strong assurances that he supports an individual's right to keep and bear arms or its “nice man, but I could never vote for him for President." I'm done voting for the lesser of evils.

How to kill a gun company.

Have these guys buy it.
Smart Gun Company Makes a Move on Remington
Ya gotta wonder if that's the real intent. No gun owner is going to buy a smart gun as long as they have a choice. I won't.

Seriously?

The Flower Shell.

Just kinda leaves ya speechless though I do kinda wonder which seed would have the best penetration.

A victory of sorts

It's the right kind of victory for the Romeike Family. Homeland Security has granted them indefinite deferred status. So they get to stay here in the United States. That's a blessing. It's not a victory for the rest of us since the Supreme Court refused to review their case. That denial lets stand the DOJ's argument that a a parent has no fundamental right to determine the education of their children. What hens when they start applying that position to domestic cases?

No blogging tomorrow.

We're sending my mama home.

It's not necessarily bad news.

California concealed gun ruling put on hold by appeals court
Peruta has been stayed, but no decision has been made on whether the case will reviewed. Considering the California AG denied she had standing when the case first came up, that's still an open matter. Wait and see.

My mom...

...was born in August of 1921. She grew up in North Carolina. Her father was a shop keeper and later a farmer. She met and married my dad around 1941 and worked for Duke University until retirement. Other than her family, her church was the center piece in her life. The last couple of years had been hard on mom with falls and broken bones. She passed away today. The last few years had been hard on mom with falls, broken bones, illness, and the burden of getting old. I know she is with my dad now and doesn't hurt anymore. That is a good thing. She is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren, and eight grandchildren. That's a good legacy, but I have not a clue what I'm going to do without her.
