Superman gives up U.S. citizenship

Mexican Police Discover Hidden Weapons Arsenal in Ciudad Juarez

...and the claims they all came from gun dealers across the border in Texas/New Mexico/Arizona will behind in 3...2...

The story itself is pretty straightforward but I do kinda wonder where the anti-aircraft guns are in the picture? Maybe the AP should do a little more than reprint the Federales' press release.

In formerly Great Britain...

...a terminally ill woman reports to the police her life had been threatened and her property damaged. In return the British Police criticize her and seize her shotguns and firearms' permit. During the incident her weapons were properly secured at her residence. This is the sort of fuckwittery I've come to expect from the British police.

Public safety ought not be up for sale -- not ever. - Paul Helmke
Unless, of course, it's sold to the Joyce Foundation's and George Soros' agenda. My point of view Paulie is the NRA is buying public safety. Oh, and a gun survey only works if the gun owners are trusting enough to tell someone they don't know that they own guns.

I prefer books...

...of the dead tree variety, but I checked out a paperback from the library the other day and the print was so damn small I couldn't read it even with glasses. I went online and got the title as an ebook. The nice thing about my Kindle is I can adjust the text to a size that doesn't strain my eyes. I didn't realize what a stress that had become until I got the Kindle.

That was just too damned easy to let pass.

I really liked Doctor Who...

HB 789: The "let's put Mikey in jail" bill.

Ya know how Mayor Mikey Bloomberg sends his minions to gun shows outside of New York where they lie about who they are to purchase guns while videotaping the transactions? If HB 789 passes trying to pull crap like that in North Carolina will end them up in jail. John Richardson has the details here. This is a bill you definitely need to call and ask your representatives to support. The thought just warms you even though with Mikey's money he'd never to a day in the hoosegow. Sometimes it's the thought that counts.

Buy a Gun Day...

...became buy a car day. The piece of shit Chrysler Grand Voyager minivan I inherited from my wife finally went tits up today. Catastrophic loss of oil and BAM!. So, Monday I've gotta buy a car. I've got a line on a used 1997 Chevy Cavalier. The engine has been rebuilt and has less than 100 miles on it. The transmission is sound with no residue in the pan. It's mechanically sound. Needs front tires. The mechanic I'm buying it from guarantees his work for a year. I can lift the hood and get to both sides of the engine without having to remove multiple parts. I'd of rather bought the gun but hey...

Anybody in the market for a piece of shit Chrysler Grand Voyager minivan with a fracked up engine?

I may have posted this before.

No plan I make survives contact with my wife.

That is all.

The safety is...

...keeping your finger off the trigger.

Atlas Shrugged: The Movie

There is a local liberal rag that come election time recommends to the party faithful for who they should vote. They make elections easy for me. I vote for whomever they are agin. Then there's Roger Ebert. Lately, I've found his panning a movie means it's a pretty good damn movie. He doesn't like Atlas Shrugged, Part 1. I guess it doesn't rise to the standard of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

HB 650: Reaction

As for doing away with reciprocity, it's just another sign that, if some legislators have their way, North Carolina will become one of the most wide-open states in the country for guns[emphasis mine]. These changes aren't just unneeded; they're reckless.
Yup, because God forbid there be legislative changes that make having a concealed carry permit actually mean something in North Carolina, or threat permit holders as the responsible adults they are. At the moment there are so many places permit holders aren't allowed to carry with a permit, it's effectively useless to have one. This bill begins to remedy that problem. The goal, as far as I'm concerned, is to allow responsible adult gun owners to legally carry a firearm, concealed or not and with or without a permit, any place a law enforcement officer can. The goal of gun prohibitionists is to place as many restrictions on responsible gun owners as possible and call them reasonable. There is nothing radical or reckless in the incremental changes proposed by HB 650. Call your representatives and let them know how you feel about it.

Ban Assault Whatevers

The Brady Bunch has a new ad against "assault clips". The URL for the campaign is banassaultclips.com. That's pretty fricking lame even for the Brady Bunch, but I guess that's all they were left with because these guys beat them to banassaultmagazines.com. That's gotta hurt.

NC: HB 650

HB 650 amends several gun laws in North Carolina in what amounts to a bit of house cleaning. Most of the amendments don't go far enough, but fall under good enough for now. Reading the actual bill gives me a frickin' headache. Fortunately, Sean, over at An NC Gun Blog, has done the hard work for me and provides the gist of each amendment for our edification. HB 650 is worth supporting so give your representatives a call.

High Gas Prices

Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.

“If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know,” Obama said laughingly. “You might want to think about a trade-in."
It's nice to know just how much President Obama really cares about those of us that are middle or working class. Barry, if I can't afford $3.70 cents a gallon for gas, what makes you think I can afford to buy a fucking Prius or one of those overpriced electric pieces of shit? Please God, let the Republicans manage to find a candidate worth a damn so we can send this twit back to Chicago. BTW not holding my breath on that one.

The quote has been scrubbed from the original story by the AP. Glenn has a screen shot here. They think we're stupid. 2012 will tell.

Seriously?

In Missouri, a Deputy entered a house to do a consent search after an arrest. There were three dogs in the house and one growled and nipped at the Deputy. She thought he had bit her and shot the dog. She went outside realized she was uninjured and re-entered the building. The dog was still aggressive and she shot it two more times killing it. The dog was a Chihuahua. A FREAKING Chihuahua, and it took the Deputy three shots! THREE SHOTS! The Deputy is now unemployed for shooting the dog not bad marksmanship.

That reminds me of a story.

A Police Officer I knew many years back was on his way to work one day and saw an injured rabbit on the side of the road. He stopped and put it out of it's misery using his service revolver. When he arrived at work he asked the Chief and Lead Firearms Instructor for rounds to replace the ones he had fired. The Chief wrote him up for using his weapon to kill rabbit. What really pissed the Chief off was that he had missed the first shot and had to take a second.

And the gun prohibitionists tell us the police are the only ones qualified to carry a firearm.
